Anne vs Sonic (Disney vs Paramount)

Death Battle Prediction: Anne Boonchuy vs Sonic The Hedgehog

(Second TN by SonicTDFW)

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

-Martin Luther King Jr.

Anne Boonchuy, The ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly hero..er..I mean Girl From Another World of Amphibia

Sonic The Hedgehog, The Blue Justice(trademark pending) of Green Hills Sonic The Hedgehog

Often time we find ourselves complacent in the life we lead, fearing the change that ultimately comes with life. This is especially true when growing up, which means we might need a little push to motivate ourselves to grow up and mature. That could come with taking a job we weren't sure of, asking out our crush, going on that trip, or....being sent to another world against our will and being chased around the universe for the immense power we hold. Okay, that last one may not have actually happened to you, but it did happen to our two combats of today's blog.

These two teens had a lot of growing up to do, but with the power they wielded, and the friends they have, these two have everything they need to get through anything put in front of them. However, today we're here to find out which teenage hero really is the best at what they do. Will The Calamity Titan show why Sonic's no big deal or will The Chaotic Speedster prove he's got the uptown funk to give her the fight of her life. Let's find out to see who wins a DEATH BATTLE!

Before we get started...

Spoilersssssssssssssss! Sonic 2 and Amphibia spoilers ahead! I mean Sonic 2 came out 2 years ago, and Amphibia ended around that same time! Seriously go watch both if you haven't, both are Peak! (Amphibia is better both are great tho).

(Also Amphibia is better than Owl House, I can say that since I've finally seen Owl House

Otherwise yeah, we're sticking with both Sonic Movies, Amphibia's show, and any supplementary canon material that both series have. Also shoutout to The G1 Blog team for their Anne vs Luz blog, really helped with Anne's side, and Brobucus and Riley, a Fast Dragon's Sonic vs Shazam script for Sonic's side.

Also should note, I'm very aware of the fact that most people in the community want Anne to fight Luz, and I'm not against that, I'm not trying to dissuade or prove to anyone that this mu is better, that is not the point of this blog. This matchup is just something I really like, and just really wanted to do this, that's all.

Also Sonic vs Goku is happening still, but college do be busy at this time of the year that this blog is releasing. I'm saving it for May because that's a big matchup that I want to do when I can give it my 100%.

We'll I guess its time to get started, cool?

Background

Anne

Before I ended up in Amphibia, I didn't care about right or wrong. I just did what was easy. I let people walk all over me and I think that's because I didn't love myself. Not really. But meeting you three has changed all of that, and these months we've spent together have shown me the person I really want to be. Trapped or not, I have to do this.

Anne Boonchuy was your normal teenage girl, living your normal teenage life. Y'know like hanging out with friends, getting into trouble with teachers, and helping her family run their restaurant. Things would change when her best friends, Sasha and Marcy pressure her to steal a music box from a thrift store on her thirteenth birthday. Unbeknownst to the three friends, this would change their lives forever, for as soon as Anne opened the box, she and her friends were sent to another world called...Amphibia.

Anne would be forced to survive on her own for awhile before meeting a local frog boy of the town Wartwood, Sprig Planter. After saving Sprig and ultimately the town from a giant mantis monster, Anne was accepted into The Planter Family home, and they would go on many wacky adventures, with Anne proving herself to the usually distrusting citizens of Wartwood, and becoming a town hero. Not only that, she was accepted as apart of The Planter Family.

These adventures would change Anne for the better, as she grew to become more responsible and trustworthy person. However, the same could not be said for her friend Sasha, who had always been pushy in their friendship. Sasha teamed up with The Toad Captain, Grime, to kill Hop-Pop. Anne would have to confront her friend and defeat her, and would continue her adventures to find a way home, leading her and the Planters to Newtopia, and her other friend Marcy.

While at first it seemed that everything was going fine at Newtopia, it would be revealed that the King of Newtopia, Andrias, was playing them all and was trying to gather the power of the gems the girl's possessed, to invade other worlds, like his ancestors did before Andrias best friend Leif stole The Calamity Box and hid it on Earth, reducing The Newtonian empire to a mere shadow of its former glory. Not only that, Andrias revealed that Marcy purposefully got the girls stranded on Amphibia to avoid them being separated due to parents wanting to move.

The drama behind that shocking reveal would have to wait though, as they needed to stop Andrias, however they were only able to escape back to Earth, leaving Sasha and Marcy behind. Anne would reunite with her parents, have to deal with a robot sent by Andrias to kill her because of her power, teaching the Planters about Earth culture, Hollywood, and avoiding the FBI, Anne and The Planters would eventually make their way back to Amphibia to help Sasha lead the army against the Andrias and his army.

The would have a climatic battle against Andrias, his army, and The Core (a hive mind of all of Newtopia greatest minds) which would transition to Earth. They would defeat Andrias and The Core, however, The Core was a sore loser and was planning to Majora the moon onto the planet of Amphibia, The three girls would fully tap into the specific gems power to combat this, and while they put up a good fight, it was not enough.

However, Anne knew what had to be done. She would channel the power of all three gems into herself to destroy The Core, and while she succeeded, it came at a price...her life. Thankfully, The Cosmic Guardian made a backup of Anne (there's a lot to impact there), and offered Anne the opportunity to become the next Guardian of The Multiverse. Anne would decline, choosing to live her life and grow up a bit more before doing that, The Guardian accepted this and declared that in 78 years, Anne would take over as Guardian. That's right, when she dies, again, Anne will become a god!

Anne would return to Amphibia and alongside Sasha and Marcy would use the last remaing power from the box to go home, but not before having one more final tearful goodbye with Planters, and a hug with Sprig. Anne would continue to live her life with the mindset that while change can be scary, it's ultimately how people continue to grow. And grow she did, gone was the girl who shirked responsibility and let people tell her what to, now stood a young lady full of bravery, responsibility, and heart. While they may be worlds apart, her and Sprig will continue to be best friends till the end.

Spranne Against The World!

Sonic

Long ago on The Planet Mobius, The Echidna Tribe formed The Master Emerald with The Chaos Emeralds, seven mystical gems with great immeasurable power. With its power, The Echidna Tribe would destroy entire armies. However, The Owls would steal The Master Emerald and wage war with the Echidna's for centuries, who were trying to take it's power back.

During all of this, The Owls would hide The Master Emerald on Earth, leaving only a compass behind, which could locate the temple's location that held the powerful gem. Their war with The Echidna's would continue until both tribes numbers were reduced so significantly that only a handful of Echidna's would remain, and one Owl, Longclaw.

Longclaw would take resident in Green Hill Zone, and she would find and raise an orphan hedgehog child and named him Sonic The Hedgehog. Unlike most inhabitants of Mobius, Sonic possessed a great power, specifically his speed. Sonic's power would somehow stem from Chaos Energy, which caused many of the inhabitants of the island to fear him. But Longclaw saw great potential in the young hedgehog, believing he could be a force for good.

However, The Echidna's would track Sonic back home after his jog to get his mother-figure a flower, barley escaping the hut, Longclaw would sacrifice herself to use the rings to send Sonic to another world to save him from The Echidna's, but not before making him promise her to stay hidden and never stop running. Sonic would reluctantly agree as he found himself alone on the planet Earth. For the next ten years, Sonic would live alone in cave in Green Hills (most be a popular name) Montana.

Sonic would watch over the towns people wishing to be amongst them, in particular The Washowski's couple, Tom, The Donut Lord you son of bi-and Maddie, The Pretzel Lady. Being alone was starting to get to Sonic, and in his frustration he began running faster than he probably has before and released a powerful blast of Chaos Energy that caused a power outage throughout the entire Pacific Northwest. After realizing that this set the military after him, Sonic would accidentally reveal himself to Tom who would shoot him with a tranq dart on accident making him lose his rings.

Tom would team up with Sonic to avoid Dr. Robotnink and his badnicks, whom the military sent after him to experiment on him, and get his rings back. Roadtrip, whoohooo! Along this trip Sonic and Tom would bond, and eventually thanks to Tom and Maddie's niece, Sonic would receive his first gift, a pair of kickass puma shoes. Tom and Maddie would help Sonic recover his rings, but instead of leaving Earth as planned, Sonic would instead declare that he would use power to protect his newfound friends and home and would defeat Robotnik banishing him to another world, and Tom and Maddie would accept him into their home.

While appreciative of this and the fact that he no longer had to hide anymore, after having a big adventure across the world, Sonic wanted more, he wanted to be a hero full time, though Tom would try to teach Sonic that while that's good, he's still a kid with more growing to do and that he should wait for his moment. This moment would come sooner than expected as Robotnik would return alongside the lone surviving member of The Echidna Clan, Knuckles, who was looking for The Master Emerald, believing Sonic knew it's location due to being Longclaw's adoptive son.

Sonic was almost killed but was saved by Tails The Fox, who was searching for The Hedgehog after his Chaos Energy blast traveled across the universe. With Tails help, the two would travel across the world to find the compass left behind by The Owls, after being instructed by a hologram message from Longclaw to do so. Not only would they find The Emerald, but the two would bond over their abnormalities, becoming best friends. Unfortunately, Eggman would steal the Emerald for himself, betraying Knuckles, and absorb the power for himself, creating the Death Egg Robot.

Sonic and Knuckles would put aside their differences, choosing to become friends, and alongside Tails and The Washowski's confront Eggman. And while they would punch the emerald out of Robotnik, shattering it revealing The Chaos Emeralds, Robotnik's robot would still prove too powerful. However, just before he could kill Sonic and his newfound family, Sonic would absorb The Chaos Emeralds and become Super Sonic! Super Sonic would defeat Eggman with ease, and then promptly wish for a chili dog before giving up the power, choosing to continue to be a kid and grow up some more before accepting the power of the universe.

Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles would form a new order, a brotherhood. Team Sonic would dedicate themselves to protecting their newfound home and Master Emerald from the forces of evil. Sonic would also finally accept himself as a Washowski, and accept Tom and Maddie as his new parental figures, finally moving on from the loss of Longclaw.

Sonic has a lot of growing up to do, but with his newfound friends and family, no force can stop him, not Robotnink, the military, Olive Garden, or even a black and red hedgehog with a similar appearance to himself (I wonder if he likes guns).

Sonic's potential is limitless as long as he continues to Reach for The Stars in the Sky.

Experience and Skill

Anne

Y'know for a high school girl with no real battle experience before traveling to Amphibia, Anne's got some serious skill. Before the series proper Anne had training in Muay Thai, which is referred as Thai Boxing, a martial arts that uses stand-up striking, sweeps, and various clinching techniques. It's also called the "Art of eight limbs", as it is characterised by the combined use of fistselbowsknees and shins.

Most surprising of all, Anne is a great swordsm-er...I mean swordswoman. She's able to hold her own and beat Sasha twice in a duel of the blades. Even able to best more experienced swordsmen like Tritono, who trained her.

Couple that with her insane survival and acrobatic skills, we got ourselves a well rounded out fighter able to fight foes with years of experience over her like FBI agents, and Andrias, who has thousands of years over Anne's mere thirteen.

Great dancer too.

Sonic

Despite admitting that he has received no training at all, Sonic is extremely skilled. He is very acrobatic and can perform many gymnastic feats, like flips for example. He can coordinate his body with perfect balance, equilibrium, flexibility, and dexterity while running at extreme speeds.

Even more surprisingly despite his lack of formal training, Sonic has the skill of an expert in hand to hand combat, able to trade blows and keep up with Knuckles in a fight, and Knuckles has been training for his entire life.

He's also a survivalist, having lived in a cave and thrived for ten years on his own before meeting Tom and Maddie. Finally, despite his lack of formal education, Sonic is no dummy. He's a great improviser and his wit genuinely helps him in battle. He's even been able to use his wits to outsmart foes like Robotnik.

Equipment

Anne

Phone

I mean it's a phone, what more could I say. I mean it's cool that it has 10,000% battery charge due to it getting charged by a mass of Zapapede. Also Suspicion Island, can't go wrong with that.

Chestplate

Anne's chestplate, she got this before traveling to the final temple to power the gems. It took awhile to get the right armor that fit her, but this one ended up being perfect for her. It provides extra protection to Anne when she's in a fight.

Backpack

Anne's backpack has the various things you expect from a teenager, snacks, shoes, picture of her family, books, and etc.

Bath Bomb

Oh shit she's got a soapy grenade, what's with these characters packing heat!

Flamethrower

This bug can breath fire, Polly's super jealous of it.

Tennis Racket

Did I mention that Anne knows how to play Tennis, well she can can. Pretty cool right.

Mantis Scythe

A Mantis Monster Arm strapped to a stick, perfect for making a whole in Hop Pop's window.

Toy Lightsaber

It maybe fake, but Anne used this thing Darth Vader style on some FBI agents with shock batons, and beat them all. So it's real to me.

Tritonio Family Sword

After training with Tritonio, Anne received his families sword. It is a normal sword, however it does glow blue, might be implying that Anne can infuse her calamity powers into it.

Calamity Gems

The Calamity Gems, also known as Calamity Stones were three stones that possessed "unlimited power", created by the Guardian. They were used to power the Calamity Box while also being able to imbue their "chosen heroes" with their power, such as Anne BoonchuySasha Waybright, and Marcy Wu. After Anne was gifted with all of their power, the gems are shattered with a shard of each later made by the Guardian remaining. The shards would then be used to take the girls back home to Los Angeles, California, USA, Earth before disintegrating along with the Calamity Box for good.

The gems possess a form of intense energy that is incredibly potent and destructive. Even one gem has great power. When channeled through a medium, either an object or person, the Calamity Gems can be used as a perpetual energy source.

Sonic

Phone

Sonic also has a phone, gifted to him by Tom and Maddie, he mainly uses it like any normal teen would, social media influence and calling Tom when he's in trouble.

Pouch

Sonic's pouch, nothing special, he just uses to store his rings.

    Snowboard

It's no Extreme Gear but its gets the job done, taken from one of Robotnik's Ariel Badnicks, with it Sonic can ride down the snowy mountain in style.

Nunchucks

Rings

You're familiar with Sonic rings, I'm sure. However they function slightly different than their game counterparts. They're more like the Super Warp Rings, from Archie Sonic (surprisingly this won't be the last Archie reference in this blog).

Rings can create portals that can reach practically anywhere in the universe that the user can imagine, from several dozen meters away from their origin point to planets on the far side of the universe. In the novel for the second movie, there is an implied limit to their wearable range, however given their range we've seen I think that hardly matters.

To use a Ring, the user must either throw or drop a Ring with the intention of using it while thinking of the place they want the other end of the Ring to appear. You ain't even have to have prior knowledge of the location, whatever you visualize the ring will take you there.

Chaos and Master Emeralds

Like their game counterparts, these 7 mystical gems of power possess powerful properties and abilities. When brought together, they create a source of ultimate power, The Master Emerald. With The Power of The Master Emeralds, you will be given the ability to build and destroy civilizations. The Master Emerald's principal power is its ability to turn the thoughts into power. In  can be absorbed by its user. When absorbed, the Master Emerald will give its user god-like power, making them, as described by Dr. Robotnik, all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-seeing.

Even without their Master Emerald form though, they hold enough power to turn a person into one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Tails even went as far as to say Super Sonic was the most powerful being in the universe.

Forms

Anne

Calamity Form (Grade 1)

There was hints of this form since the beginning of the series, but it became fully realized through rage when Anne thought Andrias had killed Sprig, giving birth to one of the most badass transformation sequence in modern fiction.

This form grants Anne extra strength, speed, and durability while also gifting her various new abilities, like flight.

However, despite gaining somewhat of a mastery over the form, this form still does have a drawback. It can only last so long, and while Anne has been able to extend its time like having a longer fight with Andrias, it will eventually run out, and even leave her tired.

Though Anne has gotten good enough to charge up some leftover power to gain access to the form even after being worn out.

Grade 2

This form came just in time to have the most anime battle ever. See The Core was a sore loser, and after playing Majora's Mask (pretty based actually) it decided to say screw it, dropping the moon on Amphibia.

Using the power of her gem specifically, Anne was able to score an upgrade with her friends Sasha and Marcy.  Her previous abilities are enhanced, and due to her stronger connection to her gem, unlike Sasha and Marcy could last way longer in the form.

Absolute Calamity Form

(Shoutout to pitch297 for making this render)

Anne's final form in the series that comes from harnessing the power from all three gems. It's pretty powerful, able to blow up The Core and the moon it was operating. It's only downside, oh I don't know, nothing much other than Anne will freaking die! So its basically like her Eight Gate, but don't worry she's got infinite revives anyway.

Sonic

Charged Form

In his Charged Form, Sonic gains blue eyes, and Chaos Energy electrifies across his entire body, his base abilities are enhanced, especially his speed. Electricity also radiates off of him. Finally, this is the form Sonic used to release that Chaos Energy Blast in the first movie.

Sonic initially struggled with controlling this power, choosing not to use it out of fear of being discoveredin fact it usually appeared due to emotional distress like anger, but once he decided to no longer hide his abilities and use them to protect his friends, he no longer had issues using this form.

Super Sonic

(render by Tailsgene19)

You know him, you love him, its...SUPER SONIC! Like his other counterparts, once he absorbs The Chaos Emeralds, Super Sonic turns Sonic from Blue to a fiery Yellow. His powers and speed are increased exponentially, and he gains the ability of flight.

As Super Sonic, Sonic personality takes a slight change, while his happy go lucky nature still resides, in the heat of battle the cocky nature he once had is gone, he becomes extremely serious focusing on finishing the fight instead of trading barbs and quips.

Most surprisingly of all, unlike his other counterparts, Sonic seemingly can hold the power of Super Sonic for as long as he wants. He gave up the power himself, not because he was on a time limit.

Abilities

Anne

Energy Manipulation

Telekinesis

In her first form, she was able to use telekinesis to grab her sword, in her second form Anne could go one step further, and use it to send Sasha and Marcy all the way back to Amphibia from space.

Energy Constructs

With her energy, Anne has the power to create any object of her choosing, with her energy she created a large tennis racket and tennis ball. The tennis ball would later transform into homing missiles in the form of cats that released incredible destructive power. She can likely create anything of her choosing, seeing as Sasha and Marcy used this ability to create different things.

Kaboom!

Yes Rico, Kaboom.

The Planter Family Dance

Created by Leif, The Planters use this dance for hunting prey by distracting them and luring them in. It puts any creature watching the dance into a hypnotic state, bending them to the dancer will. Interestingly enough, it seems to able to work on intelligent individuals, leaving Andrias flustered and Barrel completely hypnotized, forgetting what happened previously.

Sonic

Super Speed

He's a Sonic, so yeah, speed obviously is his thing, and he's extremely fast. Sonic can move so fast that his perception of people and objects can appear to be slowed down or even just outright appear frozen to him.

He was once able to run from Green Hills Montana all the way to The Pacific Ocean in three seconds, showing that he's able to run on water. He can even move so fast that he appears to be in multiple spots, allowing him the opportunity to play a full game of baseball on his own.

Spin Dash

Sonic most iconic move has made it to the big screens, by curling into a spiked ball, Sonic can dashes at high speeds. This is strong enough to launch away and destroy large vehicles.

Homing Attack

The Homing Attack also makes it to the big screen, with this ability Sonic can repeatedly strike one target or chain together hits to multiple foes.

Chaos Energy Manipulation

Chaos Energy is a force of powerful energy generated by extraterrestrials hailing from Mobius, the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald, used to improve the wielder's abilities.

The energy can alter in power, depending on what level the wielder wants to use it. Chaos Energy is mainly used to enhance one's speed, or to simply destroy. It is able to cause great havoc, having caused a broad shut down of electricity due to an energy blast, or being used to destroy civilizations and is also able to build up threats in order to do so.

Abilities from Super Sonic

  • Energy Blast: He's shown blasting the Giant Eggman Robot's arms with powerful sonic blasts of energy.
  • Cosmic Aura: Sonic's super form is mentioned to be harmful to the touch, giving his entire body is able to burn off the Giant Eggman Robot's head clean off. Knuckles warns Tom and Maddie that any physical contact with Super Sonic could harm them.
Does Sonic Have Wish Powers?

Bro really is Archie Sonic. On a serious note, The Chaos Emeralds have been stated to have the ability "to turn thoughts into reality". Super Sonic used this power to generate from pure chaos energy, as he had summoned chili dogs out of nothing.

I don't know if its as deep as Archie's variant, and Sonic has never used this ability in battle, so while he can use it, he probably doesn't know the full scope of the ability like his comic book counterpart.

Anne's got infinite revives

(Yo that things creppy wtf)

So at the end of the series Anne...dies, but before she died The Guardian created a backup of Anne (seriously that girl is gonna have some long nights thinking about that) and sent her back to the land of the living.

And considering that Anne's permeant death doesn't happen till her 90's, The Guardian said so itself, The Guardian could keep bringing her back, and it's not out of character as The Guardian wants Anne to live a full life well lived to become ready for the responsibility of becoming Guardian.

Power

Speed

Weakness

Anne

Anne does have a habit of jumping into situations without thinking things through, now grant it not only does she get better at not doing this in later seasons, she's also good at coming up with things on the fly, it's ultimately still something that she struggles with. Also in all her forms she has a time limit, and while she has an extended time limit due to her higher exposure to her calamity powers, it still exist and will leave her tired, or in her final forms case..dead.

Sonic

Sonic's a good kid, but he's still got a lot of growing to do, like any Sonic he's extremely cocky, which, sometimes it works to his benefit, but sometime's his wit can lead him open for attacks. In fact, despite his incredible speed, Sonic has plenty of moments of being hit by things that realistically, he should have no trouble avoiding, either because he wasn't expecting it or...due to his cockiness. He also tends to jump into situations as well without thinking things through, and even though he's extremely skilled, he lacks the experience of other seasoned fighters, like Knuckles, whom Sonic has never beaten in a straight fight due to his lack of experience.

Now in his Super Form, most of Sonic's personality issues actually disappear, as he was laser focus on beating Eggman. However, even the unstoppable Super Sonic can be stopped. If you land one good blow on Super Sonic, even if you're weaker or slower, you can knock The Chaos Emeralds out of him. We see this with Robotnik and the ancient echidna warrior, who were both massively more powerful than their foes but, were knocked out of their super states by them.

ishi_yuki

Hello, everyone. ishi_yuki here. Anne VS Sonic is an interesting match, and while I'm not that much into the matchup itself, the debate is something pretty neat to talk about, so here are my thoughts on who I think would win.

Starting with stats, both Anne and Sonic pack up a lot of strength, but ultimately, Anne is by far the strongest out of the two. One of Sonic's quills could create a massive energy burst that reaches 31 gigatons of TNT, but Anne has much more better feats of strength, even in base form. With some scaling, Anne can scale to a large amount of Frobots pushing the moon, which gets to 112 gigatons of TNT, and with her Super forms, she upscales Cloakbot's self-destruct and creates explosions in space battling the core, which both get into the teratons to exatons range, not including the white forms, that have the capability of reaching yottatons. Even if you used multipliers with charged forms and Super Sonic (somehow, because Super Sonic doesn't have an official multipliar yet) Sonic would still be much, much weaker, to the point he could vaporize by simply one of Anne's punch, but when we get to speed, things get a little bit different. Both Sonic and Anne have multiple laser dodging feats, giving them roughly equal relativistic speeds, however, when we enter the faster than light range, Sonic's advantage is notable. Anne evading multiple lasers from Frobots puts her around 3 times faster than light, but when Sonic created that massive explosion, it was mentioned that it reached Tails' home planet, said to be in another side of the galaxy, possibly the edge of the universe according to Sonic (but that's a bit unreliable as movie Sonic didn't know where Tails' home planet was). Either way, this would put Sonic's speed into billions to trilions of times faster than light, and even if you argued it would only apply to his attack speed, Super Sonic is pretty much leagues above anything his base form is capable of, giving Sonic a massive edge in speed here.

So this leads us to abilities. Both of them are capable of manipulating energy in some way, and Anne's telekenesis could stop Sonic if she somehow is capable of catching the blue blur. However, Sonic gains a massive advantage with his Rings. The Rings can make Sonic travel to anywhere he desires, and send opponents into other places as well. Sonic is much weaker, but giving he is absurdly faster than Anne, and taking into account that Anne's super forms have time limits, and one of them can even kill her, there's nothing really stopping Sonic to outlast Anne; running from her, dodging her attacks and teleporting/BFRing with the Rings, and Super Sonic hasn't shown a time limit so far. Sonic has also shown to use wish powers, but we do not know the extent of the ability. Besides, so far, Sonic has not really shown to use it in combat, only wishing a chili-dog for him to eat.

They are both pretty skilled and experienced, and are even capable of fighting and matching foes with years of training (Anne did fight older enemies, though).

In conclusion, while both are pretty skilled, and Anne could defeat Sonic in one blow, the hedgehog's speed, stamina, and battlefield control would make him come out on top more often than not. So, in my opinion, Movie Sonic is the winner.

King Hero6

Alright so let's start about the great power of their shining gems/emeralds for these land protectors that they call as their new home.

For Anne, her best feat with using Calamity Gems is destroying The Core possessing the moon by a large blast in her White Form. For Sonic, his best power showing is casually creating a large storm in his Super Form and could upscale since he's done that with a bit effort. His storm creation was very impressive but Anne just destroyed a whole moon which has way more potency than what Sonic created, even if you double his energy output. Now for speed is what table turns around; Anne best speed feat is when she perceives and avoid multiple laser blast from Frobots in slow motion. However for Sonic; It's basically the same like Anne but just it's his base form which his Super Form gets way faster than that. And even then, his blast from his energy travels across the cosmos which makes Sonic attacks much more difficult to avoid by it's speed many many times. Overall, Anne has the greater power advantage while Sonic has the greater speed advantage so it depends on what combatant has more force with their stats which I would say Sonic since the AOE blast with it's attack speed that travels across cosmos could be more of a fatal blow for Anne than Sonic is.

Now let's get to the important part; arsenal. For Anne, she has unique abilities like energy constructs like a GL, telekinesis, infusing energy to her swords, and even doing a mind hax dance. For Sonic, he has a creative one too like using rings to open portals to worlds and other locations, has huge AOE chaos energy that reaches across a city to a nearby planet Mobius, and a physical contact to him would make it painful for the others via his cosmic aura. Now Anne would use the dance as a mind control against Sonic since he's vulnerable to it but that requires Sonic to just stand there and watch what she's doing and not focusing on attacking Anne immediately. Plus, as Super Sonic; he will be extremely serious with Anne and does not have to be fooled by Anne's distraction towards him via just finishing his fight quickly. There's also the time limit between the combatants forms. For Anne, even when she extended her time limit; she can be run out for 10 minutes at most. However for Sonic, he can turn off his Super Form anytime he wanted and it does not seem to have a time limit which is supported that his quills are made of unlimited energy; making him having far better time limit to outlast Anne. Now there's a final situation that Sonic needs to dealt with; Anne's revivals. She can come back as a backup many times until she's 90 so she can't be killed for a really long time in a battle. Granted, Sonic has his rings to deal with her resurrection ability by BFR her to another world and leaves her quickly with no ability to open proper portals in a very large distance. Overall, Anne has some hax that would prove a challenge for the blue hedgehog but Sonic's counters with rings and time limits will close this deal.

For their experience and skill; both have fought people who has more experience in fighting compared to them (Anne's has more experience than Sonic's). Sonic has better survival experience since he has tons of adventures back in his childhood while Anne only has that experience for a year in Amphibia. For combat, both are very skilled in hand to hand combat and they are pretty well acrobatic on their enemies.

Both are very well skilled in fighting and has impressive abilities with their similar power source. Anne does have greater power and some hax to pull a fatal hit on Sonic but Sonic has nearly every counter in his disposal. Anne Boonchuy brings a great calamity with her tremendous strength but Sonic's speed, rings, and unlimited time limit makes the victory go to the Blue Justice. Anne is just too slow for Sonic's chaos.

The winner is Sonic The Hedgehog.

Ivan*kirbo

Hello everyone! Ivan*Kirbo here! And this is a cool mu! Anne vs Movie Sonic! And I'm here to tell you who I think wins this battle!

Strength and Durability:

No glossing it over, Anne is much stronger. Sure, Sonic can shut down all the power in the Pacific Northwest, but Anne destroying the Moon is so much stronger than Sonic's feat. And Anne can take hits from the Moon's aliens and Andrias' mech! Things that are still out of Sonic's league! The winner of strength and durability is Anne. But don't count Sonic out yet! Because there's...

Speed and stamina:

And this is where I think Sonic easily takes this! Anne at most can move so fast lasers appear to be in slow motion. Sonic however is so fast his blast reached Mobius in a short time! Which in the comics, was confirmed to be at least a galaxy away! And possibly another universe! This is a MFTL+ feat! Anne has absolutely no way of catching up to that speed! Plus, Sonic has shown to not get tired easily, which could let him outlast Anne's forms. The winner of speed and stamina is definitely Movie Sonic.

Hax and abilities:

I gotta give hax and abilities to Sonic. Anne's sword and calamity powers are impressive, but Sonic's wishing powers, electricity manipulation, and rings are too much for Anne. And while the infinite revives may look like an instant win for Anne, I personally find it a bit iffy. It's shown Anne still gets mildly tired in the afterlife so it's still a possibility that Anne could be too tired to continue the fight. And I'm not sure the Guardian would bring Anne back more than a couple of times, seeing that Anne would be deemed unworthy if Anne did want to be revived to many times (this is backed up by how Sasha nor Marcy were given this title because the god only chose Anne because of her pure heart, something that wouldn't hold up if she abused her life and death). Plus, Anne coming back from death would go against one of the main character arcs she had! But even if you did believe this, you would have to also buy Movie Sonic's iffy stuff, like his infinite energy or his wish granting powers, which could nullify Anne's infinite lives. Plus, Movie Super Sonic was never stated to have a time limit, so if we buy infinite lives, we gotta buy Super Sonic being able to outlast Anne's forms. So while this was a tough one to decide, I think Movie Sonic edges out this category!

Experience, IQ, and skill:

This one was by far the toughest one here to decide. Both are excellent fighters and are good at hand to hand combat. They both match foes with a ton of experience fighting and they both can master new skills easily. However, Anne has actual training from skilled people while Sonic relies on his own knowledge. Plus, Anne, while not being the brightest, is still a pretty smart kid, able to think of good ideas in short time frames and having some maturity. It also doesn't help that Anne has been fighting for longer. Movie Sonic isn't dumb, but he still acts like a little kid. I think experience, IQ, and skill go to Anne.

Verdict:

Now, who do I think wins overall? This was a very close call. But my gut feeling believes that Movie Sonic takes this. Anne is much stronger and has more skill, experience, and IQ, but Sonic is so much faster. To the point where Anne would have trouble even trying to hit him once! And Sonic's stamina, hax, and abilities definitely edge out Anne's. And since I explained why I think Sonic by bypass/Anne won't use her infinite revives, I believe Sonic has everything he needs to win! Thanks for letting me debate this matchup! See you next time!

ThatBoiDarius

Very First Blog Let’s go! I’m very excited to be apart of a blog for the very first time and This is a pretty solid MU to start off with. Even tho I still like Luz vs Anne and Movie Sonic vs Shazam, this is still a good alt for both of them.

Strength: Both have some good arguments but I’m going with Anne for this one. Scaling to the army of Frobots pushing back the Moon, This would give Anne 112 Tons of TNT. Which would be much higher than Sonic’s 31 Tons of TNT via Quill. Anne would also up scale from Cloakbot’s SD and with Her White form beam She can realistically end the fight pretty quickly if she’s able to Catch Sonic.

Speed: However that’s another thing. Is Anne fast enough to catch up to Sonic?. Well unfortunately for Anne this is where her advantage at AP becomes a problem. Both have been able to dodge lasers casually which gives them both relativistic speed. But then we get to faster than light speed and to the surprise of many, this is where our hero Blue Justice takes the advantage. Anne could reach at least 2-3 times faster than light with dodging the frobots in her grade 1 form in slow motion. But Sonic can casually do that in the first movie and in Base no less. Another thing is that Sonic is so fast his shockwave reached mobius in only a few seconds across the galaxy confirmed by Tails. Sonic’s speed and Super from would also be able to outlast Anne’s forms which have a time limit unlike Sonic who can turn off his form at will and seemingly doesn’t have a time limit to it. Even going by Anne’s white form, Super Sonic would be able to avoid it without much effort so that would be a disadvantage for Anne more than it would be for Sonic.

Hax and Abilities: Here we get to part of this matchup The Hax they both have. It’s pretty tough but I’m giving this to Sonic as well. Anne does have things like her Sword and can create constructs in her Calamity Form, Sonic has his quills Rings and Wishing powers Via Super Sonic which is alot more than what Anne has shown to do. Now there is one thing big thing that Anne has that people use in debates and that’s her infinite revives. Me personally I don’t buy it and still iffy on it now. Anne has shown to be worn out even after her death so don’t think her getting revived would change anything in the battle. Also I’m not fully convinced that the guardian would be for bringing Anne back Multiple times given that would go against the ending of Amphibia. But even if you want to say that she would get the Infinite revives, you’d also have give Sonic his high end stuff like his wishing powers that can basically turn off Anne’s revives permanently. So yeah I don’t see Anne getting the multiple revive stuff.

Experience: This last section is very hard since both are very skilled in their own ways and have fought people with years of combat experience like Andrias and Knuckles for example. And both can adapt pretty quickly though ultimately Imma give this one to Anne because l she’s had actual training form masters while Sonic hasn’t had any of that yet. IQ wise im also giving too Anne cause while she may not been the best in school, she can think of plans pretty quickly and Movie Sonic while not dumb at all, is still pretty much a Kid. (Hell he even says himself that he still has a lot of growing up to do)

My Verdict: I’m not gonna lie, at first I expected Sonic to take it with at most Medium Difficulty. But after watching Amphibia and learning more of Anne’s feats, it’s actually more closer than I thought it would be. This is by no means an easy matchup to determine and both have advantages over the other. But I’m going to give this one to the Movie Hog himself. While Anne does have the strength and experience advantage, Sonic’s speed,Hax and able to outlast all of Anne’s forms would be enough to pull of a win and take the finishing blow. The winner is Sonic the Hedgehog. (Also can’t wait for Sonic X Shadow Generations and Yes neither of them can beat Goku 🦍)

Paul

Hello everyone! I am Paul, and I'm a massive fan of Movie Sonic and his adventures. While I don't have much experience with Amphibia, I definitely like this as an alt MU for both characters. (Also very first blog yay!!)

Until the Calamity Form comes into play, I definitely think Sonic has the advantages. While he has said he has no formal training, he is extremely experienced in that of survivability due to his difficult upbringing and beginnings, and his extremely quick reflexes combine well with his improvisation and remarkably high ability to assess and determine someone's psyche and goals after enough time fighting them, including himself.

Really analyzing Anne's Calamity Forms, things get more debatable. While she is limited by time spent in each form, which means she would have to overpower Sonic before running out or even dying, her speed and personal quick thinking could help her outsmart him so that he was distracted long enough that she could land a fatal blow.

However, I don't think Sonic would give her that opportunity. Even before he gained the form of Super Sonic, Sonic does know when to scale back his cockiness and focus on a specific goal or target, even after having been seriously wounded. It's unlikely once Anne began using her Calamity Forms that he would be unfazed or continue to be his more irresponsible and frenetic self while dodging her attacks.

While Anne has moved so fast she perceived lasers as moving in slow motion, Sonic has been casually moving fast enough that an onslaught of missiles at point blank range were completely motionless for over a minute. Considering Super Sonic's speeds exceed this, I don't think Anne could react quickly enough to respond to or resist all of his attacks before she was overwhelmed and knocked out.

Both of them have attacks that reached into space, but Sonic has more feats in his superior forms that he consistently achieved on his own, even with how important his family is to him.

While both characters are extremely friendly and can even make some of their greatest foes into allies, (or at least Sonic can, again IDK) neither of them are especially strategic until necessary and wouldn't be able to dupe the other into a false sense of friendship for a surprise attack. Especially since in his Super form, Sonic exhibited a drastically different personality that was much more focused and hostile and likely would not be as welcoming if Anne tried to convince him of a false truce.

Now to answer one last important question, "could Movie Sonic resist The Planter Family Dance?" In my opinion, yes. While the dance has worked on intelligent individuals, Sonic's hyperactivity, likely ADD, and natural speeds means he would either quickly respond to the Dance and interrupt it, or join in with Anne and would not be affected by it, based on his love for music and dancing as a whole.

In the end, I believe the winner is Movie Sonic.

Starlight

Hello! I am nightlight starlight whateva, what you want is my crazy opinion on this wacky ass mu, as a person who has watched both series and read through the blog, id personally say sonic would win, now i know that sounds a little crazy, but the thing is most of anns feats require objects that are non standard eg the gems and her true form or whatever its called i forgot, needs 2 others to pour energy into her, it also kills her, and before you say but she can come back to life, she needs another being for that to happen so even if we give her that she will probably die anyhow, not to mention, sonic in base has shown island level feats comparable and or above any anne can do, the speed difference, is also a little crazy.

In my humble opinion, anne just cant win, with sonics wish magic speed and power above anne, and most of annes abilitys just killing her, sonic just speeds on by and takes the cake.

Great The Shark

Hey yall, Shark here to give my thoughts on this matchup! Haven't done a verdict in a while, and while I do have preferences for both fighters, this is a pretty cool mu regardless. Both Sonic and Amphibia are franchises that I love, and it was fun to give my own thoughts on this MU. That's enough about me though, which of these heroes would win in a DEATH BATTLE?

Strength/Durability

Both have some pretty good feats here, but I don't think it's much of a surprise that Anne takes this. Even in her base form, Anne still scales higher into gigatons, and even in super forms, this doesn't really change much either, since Anne blowing up the moon gets higher than pretty much anything that Sonic gets. So right now, it's looking like any hit from Anne will definitely screw up the blue blur. But there comes another question: Could Anne even tag Sonic?

Speed/Stamina

This is an entirely different story for our two characters. Anne's laser-dodging feat is impressive, and seeing as how she did this with only part of the gem's power, she likely upscales from this feat in her more powerful forms. But on Sonic's end, things get WAY crazier. For starters, even in his base form, Sonic's shockwaves were said to reach all the way to Mobius, a planet stated to be atleast a galaxy away from Earth. And even if you argue that this is only attack speed, Sonic upscales from his own laser-dodging feats thanks to his super forms, so it's safer to say that Sonic takes speed. Stamina is also pretty clear-cut here. Anne's forms have a time limit and even leave her tired after they're over, while Sonic seems to have no such limitations in his own forms, and was even stated to have an unlimited amount of energy.  So with that being said, speed and stamina go to Sonic.

Abilities/Hax

Anne has some pretty decent abilities such as energy constructs and telekinesis, which could stop possibly stop Sonic in his tracks, setting up an easy win. But given the speed difference, it's likely that Anne won't really get that chance. And while Anne's infinite revives are very useful, she probably won't even get to use them in this fight, given she takes AP and Durability. So with Anne not being able to tag Sonic, and Sonic not being able to hurt Anne, what can either of them do? Well, Sonic does have wishing powers, except we don't know the full capabilities of them, and so far he has never used them in combat. So it's safer to say that these powers won't be much help here. Sonic with his rings could BFR Anne into another world, but with the Calamity Box, she could just return to the fight like nothing happened. That is, if she was even given the box in the first place... (Yep, she was given the gems specifically and not the box itself in this blog. There are arguments for the gems being able to produce portals themselves, however, portals have only formed when the gems are actually in the box itself. So it's safe to say that the box itself is needed to make the portals.) So with all that being said, I think Sonic only slightly edges out in hax. Just slightly.

Intelligence/Experience/Skill

This is a pretty close category, but I do think Anne should take it. Both have similar experience, but I think that skill should go to Anne, as she's the only one here with actual training. Intelligence I think should also go to Anne, mostly because of her ability to think of plans quickly, as well as her generally being more mature than Sonic. So this category goes to Anne.

My Verdict

So far, I see two ways that this fight can go. Either Anne AP stomping, or Sonic outlasting/potentially BFRing her. And honestly, out of these options, I think the former is more likely. As I've said before, Anne still takes AP and Durability in base to base forms. And seeing how Sonic seems to be a pretty cocky fighter, usually goes for a more physical approach, aswell as him letting his guard down sometimes and getting hit by attacks that he would otherwise dodge, all lead me to believe that he would ultimately get stonewalled, and that Anne would be able to deal a fatal blow first.

Overall, while this is a debatable MU and I could definitely see this fight go either way, I believe that Anne's superior AP, Durability, and Skill, paired with our favorite hedgehog's unfortunate shortcomings will net this frog lady a victory. While Sonic was an extremely capable fighter, he was ultimately destined to Luz! (wait wrong character)

The winner is Anne Boonchuy.

An Average Person

(Yay! First Blog! :D)

Alright so. This match was actually fairly close. For starters, Anne is obviously stronger, While Movie Sonic has had notable strength feats himself (Notably him knocking out the power across the Pacific Northwest, and in super form could take out the death egg robot). Anne is just a lot more powerful in terms of strength considering her variety of moon feats and what not. While sure you could argue that the master emerald could wipe out entire armies by itself (according to Tails), that is just nothing compared to the feats Anne has accomplished.

HOWEVER! Despite the massive strength advantage for Anne, who could easily take out Sonic in one shot alone, she would need to catch up with him. And ofc, Movie Sonic obviously takes speed by an absolute LANDSLIDE. I mean come on- it's a version of Sonic The Hedgehog. While Anne Could avoid multiple blasts from Frobots and perceived the lasers in slow motion. Movie Sonic has done the same and more, especially with Sonic being able to make an energy blast that reached Mobius just from running ALONE. And that's just in BASE form. He would likely be a LOT faster in Super form.

So basically, Anne takes Strength and Sonic takes speed. So it all comes down to Abilities. Anne has a lot of things going for her with this, energy constructs, telekinesis, mind hax with her dance, and all her super forms. She had a lot of things going for her and could easily have notched the win. Unfortunately for her, Sonic just had everything he needed to take her out and then some! Sonic could use his ring portals, obviously allowing him to travel to anywhere he desires, and send opponents into other places as well.

And this is where Sonic's BIGGEST wincon comes into play. You see- While Anne's super forms are very impressive, they do have their time limits. And after a while Anne's super forms could shut down. Sonic on the other hand has never shown any limits to his super form. So all Sonic would need to do is to outlast Anne's super forms when the time comes until she runs out of juice. And with Sonic's clear speed advantage and ring portals, it likely wouldn't even be difficult!

While Anne had incredible strength on her side, Sonic’s speed, arsenal, and clear wincon proved that even with the blue gem of calamity, there was no way Anne could take down the blue devil.

Looks like Anne just couldn’t “Just”ify a win… against Blue Justice!

The Winner Is Sonic The Hedgehog!

(Art by RisiziArts)

My turn! Before I get started, I wanna say that I love this matchup, and it was really fun to make a blog for. But I'll get into more of that later, let's get into who I think wins.

Experience/Skill

Yeah, I don't think this is close at all, Anne was actually trained in a martial art prior to the series, Sonic has admitted to having no training at all in Sonic 2, and when it comes to intelligence Anne's running circle's around The Blue Blur, actually having a formal education, and Anne isn't dumb, the reason she wasn't that good of a student was because she didn't apply herself, in the future she became a herpetologist, a job that would require a strong mind.

Now to be fair Sonic has beaten foes smarter and more experienced than him, but so has Anne, but to a greater degree, considering she's fought FBI agents, and Andrias, who has thousands of years worth of experience and knowledge over Anne and Sonic. Heck, while Sonic has been able to keep up with Knuckles, he's never beaten him, due to that lack of experience and skill.

Finally, Sonic and Anne are both technically survivalist, Sonic having been one longer, like ten years longer, however, let's just be honest with ourselves, while surviving in a cave and forest of Green Hills for ten years is impressive, compared to just casually living in Amphibia, there's no contest. Anne had to survive various monsters, bugs, and plant life trying to eat her and The Planters, while also having to hunt for food and become one with nature. And before the series proper, Anne survived on her own in the forest for a bit before meeting Sprig.

This category easily goes to Anne.

Stats

Anne AP/Durability Stomps

But Sonic speed stomps.

Arsenal/Abilities/Hax

This ones's a bit harder to figure out, at first glance given Sonic rings and the fact that his forms have no time limit, you'd think Sonic would take this easily. But it's not as clear cut as it seems, Anne's got her own abilities to keep the Blue Blur on his toes. Her energy constructs and telekinesis could definitely give him some trouble.

And for Sonic's rings, if you give Anne the fully charged Calamity Box, then she could counter it by opening her own portals to follow him or BFR him. The reason it wasn't included in this was because, Andrias had the box when it was fully charged with the gems, Anne only personally owned it when it didn't work. But if you do include it then there you go.

But let's talk about the big one's, wish powers and infinite revives. To be honest, Sonic wish powers are not playing a huge factor in this, he's never used it in battle before, and only used it to make a chili dog for him and Knuckles. Technically he could wish for anything he wanted, but it's in the same way Star can. Like yeah, technically their powers can do that, but they've never used it in a way like Archie Sonic, where he can wish his foes away, mostly because their kids who aren't thinking of stuff like this. Sonic most likely doesn't know the full scope of this ability.

Anne's revives are a hot topic of debate, it hinges on The Guardian just constantly reviving her, but The Guardian has confirmed Anne's permanent death is in her 90's, The Guardian can see the future, and The Guardian want's Anne to live a full life to become a better Guardian in the future, and Anne's not the type to spam this. The way I see this, in this fight, Anne dies, comes back, and Sonic's already left ending the fight, or Anne dies, comes back, and somehow takes advantage of this and takes Sonic out. I mean Sonic could assume fight's over, gives up The Emeralds which scatter across the world, Anne comes back and takes advantage of her greater strength/power and takes him out. It's a possibility.

But there's one ability that I think everyone overlooks in this debate, The Planter Family Dance. This dance could work on Sonic, he fits the criteria for the dance to work on him, and even though he's of higher intellect then the creatures the dance was made for, it worked on Barrel, who's of similar mindset and personality to Sonic.

But would Sonic let this happen to him?

This is where Sonic's personality comes into play, it's possible he could see it and think "ha funny dance I wanna try", and join in leaving the dance ineffective. There's also the possibility that Sonic would actually stand there and make fun of it, question it, or joke about it giving Anne the opportunity to mind hax him. For Base Sonic. its huge possibility it'll work...especially given how many times he's been hit by thing's he should have avoided due to being to cocky, joking, or...plot reason I guess (looking at you tranq dart)

Super Sonic is entirely different story, Sonic becomes extremely serious in battle at that point. Now to be fair, he did let Eggman talk for a while and only attacked when Eggman tried to hit him, but tbh I think that's because he was trying to give Robotnik the chance to back off. But you could argue based off that, that Anne could still get it in. I find that extremely unlikely tho, especially in a battle like this.

However, Super Sonic's does still carry something over from his base forms personality, he prefers to throw hands, in fact that's all he did to beat Eggman. No hax or anything, just a straight fight. With that in mind, even though Super Sonic would still be faster, Anne could still get a hit in due to Sonic's preferences. Remember, just one hit will knock The Chaos Emeralds out of Sonic, and given Anne's superior power, she could do it.

Final Thoughts

I think that most people are going to side with Sonic winning this one, and while I do think Sonic can very well win with the advantages he has, greater speed, stamina, and his lack of time limit in his super forms.

But you know what, I'll play devils advocate and say that Anne can pull it off due to her greater power, durability, experience, and skills. This was as Wiz say's "a close fight" but in my opinion while Sonic proved to be a big deal, Anne is gonna send Sonic shooting into the stars in the sky.

The winner is Anne Boonchuy (at least in my opinion).

Conclusion

Anne Boonchuy

“Change can be difficult. But it’s how we grow. It can be the hardest thing to realize you can’t hold onto something forever. Sometimes, you have to let it go. But of the things you let go, you’d be surprised what makes its way back to you.”

    Advantages:

  • Way more powerful to the point she could one-shot, even in base
  • Also more durable to the point Sonic can't reasonably hurt her
  • Much more experienced and better survivalist
  • More skilled and actually has training
  • Smarter
  • Can revive again to continue or finish the fight
  • The Planter Family Dance would work on Sonic...
  • Better singer
    Disadvantages:

  • Much, much slower slower even with FTL speeds
  • Less stamina
  • Time Limit on Super Forms
  • White Form will kill her
  • Can't counter Sonic's Rings if not given The Calamity Box
  • ...You can argue that Sonic wouldn't let Anne finish the dance and he most definitely won't in Super Form
  • Good dancer but Sonic has her beat

Sonic The Hedgehog

"This is my power, and I'm not using it to run away anymore! I'm using it to protect my friends!"

    Advantages:

  • Much, much, much faster
  • Superior Stamina
  • Without Calamity Box, Rings grant Sonic battlefield control
  • Super Sonic has no time limit
  • Better Dancer
    Disadvantages:
  • No where near as powerful
  • Not as duarable
  • Less experienced/not as good survivalist
  • No training whatsoever compared to Anne's training in martial arts prior to the series
  • Less intelligent
  • His personality and preference to fight hand to hand even as Super Sonic can leave him open to attacks
  • The Planter Family Dance would work on him
  • Wish Powers aren't really applicable in combat
  • (This one's just my opinion, but really has no answer to Anne's revives)
  • Worse singer

Afterword:

This was a fun blog to make, had a great time rewatching both series for this blog, especially Amphibia which has solidified Anne as one of if not my favorite female protagonist. Now then, I know what you're asking, Sonally, why this matchup? You know if DB returns, Anne vs Luz is inevitable. I acknowledge that but just because that's true doesn't mean I don't like this one any less, in fact I love it because of its thematic's and animation potential.

Connections

Anne and Sonic are both two teens who were forced to another world due to the actions of others- Sasha and Marcy pressuring Anne to steal the box lead to them getting stranded in Amphibia, and due to The Echidna's trying to get their emeralds back they attacked Sonic and Longclaw forcing Longclaw to send Sonic to to Earth.

Their both inverses of the sent to another world trope- Anne was a human from Earth sent to a different world, and Sonic was and alien from another world sent to Earth.

Before meeting their friend who would offer them a home, both would live alone in the woods/forest/cave by themselves and be forced to survive alone.

Both would earn the respect and love of a town they at first was hostile/not sure what to make of them becoming their hero

FOUND FAMILY TROPE YOU LOVE TO SEE IT, RIGHT MARCY!

Both would be chased not across the world and other dimensions for the power and secrets they held

They have a rival seeking their power because of the fact they are connected to someone who's family stole a powerful relic/gems of theirs that helped their civilization thrive and without it started the decay/downfall of their civilization- Andrias wants the gems and the box to restore Newtopia former glory that he feels was stolen from him by his friend Lief who is an ancestor of the Planters, and Knuckles wants the Master Emerald back becuase he believes it's his birthright due to being an echidna, and the echidna's created The Master Emerald that the owls stole, and since Sonic was raised by an owl, he is connected to their order, also Knuckles is the only remaining echidna due to the war for the Master Emerald.

Both draw power and gain super forms from powerful gems

Both get chased around and defeat robots

Both are connected to the color blue- Anne forms excluding her White Form is blue, and Sonic is blue outside of Super Sonic.

Both have a red rival whom they butt heads with but are ultimately friends with (Sasha and Knuckles) and a geeky smart best friend who they feel the need to protect (Marcy and Tails), with these friends they protect the new world they've come to love.

Both would be granted/offered the powers of a god, but reject it for the time being choosing to grow up and enjoy being a kid before accepting such power and responsibility.

Both shows and characters have themes and messages of growing up, accepting change, waiting for your moment, and enjoy being a kid but also accepting responsibility.

Conclusion (fr this time)

Man that was a lot, I could go into animation potential but I think we all know the animation would be clean, have the fight play into both's advantages, and have a funny moment with The Plantar Family Dance, whether it works or not, also music would be dope, have it be similar in vain to No Big Deal and Stars in The Sky.
