Blaze vs Starfire (Sonic vs DC Comics)

 Blaze vs Starfire

Half of the time I don't know what they're talking about; their jokes seem to relate to a past that everyone but me has shared. I'm a foreigner in the world and I don't understand the language.”

Jean Webster

Blaze The Cat, Princess of The Sol Empire and Guardian of The Sol Emeralds of Sonic The Hedgehog

Koriand’r, Princess of Tameran and Starfire of The Titans of DC Comics

We've all probably felt a little out of place in a new environment. Having to struggle to understand how this new world works, how to adjust to its customs, and find your way around while also trying to fit in. It's even harder when you have a difficult past and a heavy burden weighing you down. Luckily, in this new environment there will always be people willing to help guide you along, and show you around, most importantly, be your friend.

Fortunately, today's combatants had people in their lives who gave them friendship and more importantly, compassion, they ever so needed, which has stuck with them ever since. These two fiery princesses possess great skill, strength, and a kindness like no other, and today we'll settle which one will win in a DEATHBATTLE!

Hol up……

So what will both get today, well that’s actually pretty simple. Blaze will get all the games that are canon, including spin-offs like Sonic Shuffle. We will also be including IDW since that’s canon alongside The Other Word Comedy. Tails Tube is also fair game as well, and statements made on BumbleKast THAT'S REASONABLE, is also fair game.

For Kori, well….you’ve seen Goku vs Superman right, there you go, Infinite Frontiers go brrrrrrr. Lastly, I’d like to give credit to Ishi_Yuki Goku vs Sonic blog in regards to scaling and cosmology for Sonic, as I’m not as knowledgeable in terms of the Game Sonic in that regard, as I am Archie Sonic, and the G1 team and Loka Prediction Blog when it came to DC Cosmology and scaling.

Welp I think that answers everything, let's get star—-

“What about Archie Blaze?”

Sigh…

I guess this does need to be answered, so a lot of people assume that by having Archie Blaze adds something to the debate that canon does not have, in particular Chaos Powers and how much more extensive, vast, and unique they are compared to Canon.

For characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and even Silver (as we’ve seen in  Trunks vs Silver), this would be true, especially when it comes to Tails and Knuckles.

However….

Not every game character in Archie Sonic is like that, for a good bit of the game characters abilities are one-to-one with their game counterpart, this would include Blaze.

I know that’s surprising considering Burning Blaze, but she has only used the form once in person in the comics, and it was just to launch a huge fireball. Moreso, unlike Silver, who was trained by a Master of Chaos, we cannot assume Blaze knows of the more fantastical powers one receives in their Super Form in the Archie Comics.

Archie Blaze adds nothing to the debate, outside of higher stats, and in fact Canon Blaze adds more to the conversation then her Archie Counterpart. So no, we are not using Archie. Also, choosing to use Archie Blaze cause she’s just stronger is incredibly unfair to Kori, considering we would not be doing the same for her.

With that said, let's get this show on the road.

Background

Blaze The Cat

"Yes... That is my duty as princess. My duty... And honor!"

200 years into the future, Mobius (or Earth) will be ravaged by fire, by a being known as Ibilis. No one knew how this foul beast came to be, only that its power was unmatched and ultimately undefeatable. However, two lone heroes would stand up to the beast's fury. You’re already familiar with one of them, Silver The Hedgehog. He would be joined by his companion and best friend, Blaze The Cat. The two would embark on a quest through time and space, to defeat Iblis and learn the secrets of its past while also helping the heroes of a time long forgotten. Blaze would act as Silver’s guide and moral compass, helping to keep him grounded while also giving him assistance in battle.

Ultimately their journey would end in Blaze having to sacrifice herself by sealing away the beast that plagued their world, leaving Silver alone in a world without his best friend, and that’s where our story ends……

But not really, cause time travel is bullshit, and the events of Sonic 06 would be erased from time, and somehow this would erase Blaze from the main universe, and instead place her in a different dimension, one separate from the main one.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Sol Dimension, a parallel universe in the multiverse linked to the main Chaos Dimension, in fact they’re so intrinsically linked, to the point that it even has its own set of emeralds, known as the Sol Emeralds. And in this new universe, Blaze would not just be a random citizen but its princess.

Growing up, Blaze had a lonely childhood, due to her status as princess and more importantly, her pyrokinetic abilities. Which led her to being ostrichsized and rejected by her peers, to the point that she viewed her powers as a curse, and led her to believing that she must do everything on her own relying on no one else’s strength but her own, even more so when she became the guardian of The Sol Emeralds, though this led her to being unable to use their power.

However, this would all change once Doctor Eggman invaded her home, to steal the emeralds, and on her quest to reclaim them, she would once again run into the path of Sonic The Hedgehog and his friends. Initially, rejecting his help, due to the circumstance and prompting by her newfound companion, Cream, Blaze would team up with Sonic to defeat Eggman and Eggman Nega, reclaim the Sol Emeralds (while also finally tapping into their power), and save both of their universe’s.

Most importantly, Blaze would learn the meaning of friendship through her adventure with her comrades, and ultimately come to value the strength in putting her trust in others. With a newfound perspective, Blaze continues to protect and lead her kingdom more effectively, while also returning to visit The Chaos Dimension to be with her newly made friends and aid them in battle whenever they may need her.

She would even reunite with Silver, and while both have no memory of their previous life together, the bond they once shared is so powerful that not even time erasing it from history can destroy it, as they instantly became close friends once more (maybe a bit more right SEGA please).

Blaze has had an interesting life to say the least, but with her newfound family by her side this already powerful princess has even more to fight for, and she’s determined to not let them down. So you might not want to get on her or her friend's bad side (especially Cream), otherwise, you might just find your pants literally on fire.

Starfire

"The greater the struggle against your power, the more it resists. Embrace what you have inside, let it become you, and you will find who you were meant to be."

The planet of Tamaran; a beautiful world of warriors with golden skin, hailing the goddess of X’Hal. After forming a planetary government that turned into a feudal society, two princesses were born; Koriand’r and Komand’r. The older sister unfortunately did not inherit her Tamaranean genes as well as her younger, unable to fly. Nonetheless, the sisters were sent to the Warlords of Okaara to train in their peoples ways, but it wouldn’t be long before Komand’r ran off, finding an alliance with the Citadel, an intergalactic criminal empire of the Vega system, and with their sights set on Tamaran, an invasion was imminent.

Komand’r gave the Citadel everything they needed to launch a full-scale invasion on the peaceful world of Tamaran, and though they were warriors, the Tamaraneans were no match, and their emotional reasoning led them to hand over Komand’r’s younger sister Koriand’r to ensure peace. Six years of torture would occur for Koriand’r due to Komand’r’s bitter jealously of her younger sister, until an external force known as the Psions intervened, taking the two sisters by force for sadistic scientific experiments. Since Tamaraneans had a unique ability to absorb energy, they wanted to see just how much energy before their bodies couldn’t handle it any longer. It wouldn’t take long for help to arrive however, as the Citadel was still loyal to Komand’r and ravaged the Psions to free the Tamaranean traitor.

While the Psions were distracted, Koriand’r also made her escape with her newly found powers of starbolts from the experimentation, and out of love, freed her sister Komand’r as well…but Komand’r was anything but grateful, striking her down and imprisoning her once again to be executed under Komand’r’s rule. But Koriand’r escaped once more, and found refuge on a planet called Earth, where she was an outsider to the perplexed humans. With her sister on her trail, it seemed she was on her own, until help came in the form of a group of young superheroes simply known as the Teen Titans. Grateful for their help, Koriand’r would find that she not only had a new home, but a new family, surrounded by people who know what it is like to be an outsider to the world or be on their own. And that she no longer was. To Tamaran, she was called Princess Koriand’r but to the Teen Titans (after an awkward kiss), she was called Starfire.

Experience & Skill

Blaze

It’s no surprise that Blaze is a skilled fighter, as she was able to casually defeat Knuckles who is a master martial artist. She’s easily the most powerful female Sonic Character and honestly, she’s also one of the most powerful heroes in the series, to the point that she can even match Sonic The Hedgehog in not only strength but speed as well.

Sonic has fought beings like Solaris and The End, Solaris is a being that exists across past, present and future, with its defeat in the present meaning nothing, and Sonic Shadow and Silver had to defeat Solaris in different time periods and hit him simultaneously, and The End was stated to be Infinite in comparison to Solaris

Sonic and Shadow have also battled Emerl, who is able to mimic the techniques of others in many ways, through observation or learning it after it's used on him with seemingly no limit aside from overloading and going out of control if he's given a continual feed of data. Emerl also copied all the innate abilities of the main cast, including Sonic and Shadow, and they beat him.(Possibly twice in Shadow’s case)

Blaze is incredibly smart, which is honestly a given considering she is ruling an entire kingdom. What’s really impressive is that Blaze, without remembering who Silver was, is able to fight in perfect coordination with him, without thinking.

Starfire

To no one’s surprise, Kori is an extremely talented fighter and has been noted as such. She is on par with fighters like Wonder Woman and Donna Troy, in fact Kori has the leg up over Donna in their sparring matches. This is due to the fact that Kori was trained by the warlords of Okaara, learning how her enemies body functions, learning their strengths and weaknesses. She has even fought enemies of the Man of Steel such as Mongul, facing him in weapon and hand-to-hand combat fairly evenly.

It also helps that her people, the Tamaraneans, are said to be fierce in battle and few can match them in the art of war. Even experienced Tamaraneans like herself and her husband can learn and improve their skills, training together for weeks honing their abilities. She was taught the art of warfare and all manner of Tamaranean combat. She’s received training from Amazonians, beating three of them at once, and having another moment where its confirmed her skill is on par with Diana. While swords are her primary weapon, she has done well with other weapons such as staffs, and lances. She has beaten swordsmen/women as skilled as Rose Wilson in merely a couple of seconds, and has fought experienced foes such as some of the galaxy's deadliest bounty hunters.

Her mind is also incredibly sharp from experience, and is a very ready battle tactician, being a skilled pilot already, and being quite the sharpshooter with her starbolts, but her allies have recognized her leadership and commanding skills, with Arsenal calling her a tactical genius, and being able to identify traps that not even Red Hood or Arsenal could see coming despite not being apparent at first.

Equipment

Blaze

Rings

Rings are used as the health system in the games, as long as a user has at least one, it will protect them from losing a life after taking damage. It can even protect Base Level characters against stronger foes, like Void and Supreme. They can replenish energy and amplify powers like speed.

Wisp

Wisp are little aliens from the Planet….Wisp, after being saved from the evil clutches of Eggman by Sonic, these little guys have continued to aid Sonic and friends in their many adventures against the forces of evil, here are some of the Wisp.

White Wisp: Gives an instant but limited boost that attracts nearby rings.

Blue Cube: Transforms users into a blue cube that gets larger the more enemies the user defeats, alongside the blast detonated getting larger as well.

Cyan Wisp: User turns into a cyan laser, becoming a living beam of light that can bounce off surfaces and strike their foes.

Gray Wisp: When using the Gray Wisp, the user becomes an iron ball whose density increases, making them so heavy that jumping or falling on the ground can cause  a destructive shockwave. The user can scale walls despite this.

Indigo Wisp: The user becomes a miniature planet with a strong gravitational field, the user can create a powerful gravitational pull around himself that’s powerful enough to pull in surrounding objects and enemies into themselves, transforming them into lifeless material for their ring system. The captured foes or material can be used to empower the user's gravitational pull.

Violet Void: With the Violet Void, the user becomes a living black hole and can warp space and time, they do this to draw things into themselves and making them vanish without a trace.

Blaze herself has used Wisp before, for example some of the Wisp she used include, The Cyan Wisp, Indigo Wisp, and The Yellow Wisp.

Item Boxes

The Item Boxes have featured in a plethora of games, dating back to the beginning of the series. They have a variety of abilities like granting invincibility, power boost, increased speed, shields including one’s granting protection against the elements; like the fire shield which protects users against all types of fire related abilities. It even grants the ability of Transmutation, through the ability Ring Time, which turns nearby enemies into rings, an ability that Blaze herself has used.

The Jeweled Scepter

The Jeweled Scepter is a powerful ancient relic protected and guarded by Blaze’s family for many generations. It’s the key to tapping into The Power of the Stars, an energy that ensures the existence of parallel dimensions within the multiverse, and far surpasses The Chaos and Sol Emeralds in power..

The Scepter grants a plethora of magical abilities, like summoning meteors, energy attacks, generating electrical balls, and manipulating space. With its power it can even fuse two universes.

While we’ve never seen Blaze herself use the scepter, it’s currently in her possession, being guarded in her castle, and has been guarded by her family for many generations as said earlier.

Sol Emeralds

The Sol Emeralds are Blaze’s dimension variant of The Chaos Emeralds, and Blaze is the guardian of The Sol Emeralds, usually always having them on her person; they have a limitless supply of energy. They are stated to be equal in power with The Chaos Emeralds, and are able to turn thoughts into power as well. They are able to repower them as well, they should also be able to perform many of the same abilities of The Chaos Emeralds. They can also draw on and manipulate positive and negative energies.

This includes abilities like performing miracles, healing, resurrection (and possible wish granting), store information, time manipulation including the ability to stop and move through time, and sealing.

On their own, The Sol Emeralds can even restore memories, like when Sonic lost his and Blaze restored his memories with The Sol Emeralds. The Chaos Emeralds have been stated to be the super-substances of dream, possibly making them the source of all dreams contained within Fourth Dimensional space, which is a dream in of itself due to Illumina, and would include Maginaryworld. Due to the emeralds, Solaris became a threat to all timelines and would destroy the very meaning of time itself.

Blaze's connection with them runs deep, as she’s able to sense them and the emeralds guide her.

Starfire

Swords

Due to growing up as a Tamaranean warrior, one of the primary methods of combat taught to Starfire was swordplay. When it comes to the battle of weapons, Starfire more often then will carry a sword with her, as she is the most experienced with it as stated above.

Abilities

Blaze

Super Speed

Sonic The Hedgeblog — “There are five more I must get, can't waste...

Like any Sonic character, Blaze is incredibly fast, however, what sets her apart from most of her peers is that she is one of the few characters who can keep up and outright match Sonic The Hedgehog in speed. Her own Boost is equal to Sonic’s, and could possibly beat his own.

She’s extremely nimble, she’s able to control her trajectory mid-air through self-propelled dashes, perform mid-air tricks, and travel through corkscrews and loops

She’s also really acrobatic.

Pyrokinesis

Blaze’s most recognizable and primary ability for combat is her ability to control and manipulate fire. She can lace her attacks in fire, erupt pillars of flames, and use her flames to thaw others out of being frozen solid

She can coat herself in fire, use her fire to move faster, use them to heat herself and others, fly, make huge tornadoes of flames, shoot large balls of fire (look a fire kamehameha),and coat her fist in flames. Even more impressively, she can dispel columns of fire and erase beings made of fire.

Her flames are strong enough to stay ignited even underwater.

She also has resistance against certain heats and fire due to her ability, like when she walked on lava.

Fire Claw

The Fire Claw is Blaze’s variant of the homing attack, like the homing attack Blaze locks on to her opponent and attacks with a quick strike. The difference is her’s is covered in fire.

Spinning Claw

The Spinning Claw allows Blaze to spin along the ground while unleashing a ring of fire that damages anything she touches.

Fire Boost

The Fire Boost is just Blaze’s version of The Boost, just only covered in Fire instead of the energy shield that covers the other characters who uses the ability.Blaze launches herself forward at incredible speeds rivaling the Sonic’s Boost as a highly destructive projectile, without virtually any acceleration delay. While using this move, Blaze is able to barge straight through obstacles at staggering speeds without slowing down.

Burst Dash

The Burst Dash allows Blaze to charge fire in her feet to send her off as a fiery tornado at high speed. Basically Blaze’s version of the Spin Dash, though it doesn't last as long and Blaze is vulnerable while charging it up unlike the Spin Dash.

Dimensional Travel

Somehow Blaze is able to use her flames to travel between dimensions, separate from the Sol Emeralds. Even sending others to different dimensions.

Other miniscule Abilities and Resistance:

Possible Resistances

Starfire

Tamaranean Physiology

As a Tamerainan, Starfire is much different than a human like you or me, which is a given considering her eyes. Tamaraneans are much tougher than humans, but due to tortuous experimentation, Starfire is even different from them. These experiments gave Kori strength beyond a regular Tamaraneans, and extra abilities. It's even suggested that the more she trains and employs her rituals, the more powerful she grows by the day, as noted from fighting Deathstroke, she said she felt weaker and was taking hits she shouldn’t have due to not taking time to train. While all Tamaraneans can absorb ultraviolet light, Kori’s is much more potent, and much more powerful. She’s described as having the sun raging through her 24/7

Starfire can also metabolizes lambent radiation, energy from an underwater city subterranean light source, which can cause overloading,  causing her body to adapt and process it. She should be comparable to the likes of General Ph'yzzon, who can create multiply stellar energy binaries of himself through the same type of experimentation, the same aliens who kidnapped Ph’yzzon to experiment on him were responsible for Starfire’s powers so it’s possible Kori might have the same power as Ph’yzzon.

Flight

Like most superheroes, Starfire can fly. She can fly in space and travel interstellar distances, even saying herself she’s traveled too many light-years to count.

Starbolts

Her signature ability, that you're no doubt familiar with, her Starbolts are a bright green laser that fires at an opponent or can be used to turn into her costume. These lasers have varied over the years, either acting as normal lasers would or long energy blasts. They have come in red and green color, or even appear like fire.

Due to being tortured and experimented on this led to her powers, her power is called Starbolt, solar power that she can form into concentrated energy. However, there is more to her Starbolts than you originally thought. With enough concentration she can stun foes, sting them, siphon off flames, implode starbolts rather than explode them, and even create walls of flames with Starbolt, however Starbolts are more than just a green laser Kori fires.

It’s actually the name of her power, there are many abilities Kori possesses that stem from her power of Starbolt. But even still, her normal energy blasts are more than capable of harming and matching the power of other DC heavy hitters, such as harming Pre-Crisis Wonder Woman, Titan Hyperion, Demon Raven, Mongul (even making him fall to his knees), Green Lanterns, Sinestro, and Helspont

Optic Blasts

Similar to Kryptonians, Starfire is able to emit her starbolts through her eyes in precise and powerful beams.

Starbolt Shield

Pretty standard stuff, with her starbolts, Kori can create shields to protect herself or others like when Trigon slammed the Titans Tower on top of the team and Stars barrier protected the group from harm

Starbolt Domes

They don’t have an official name, but these green domes of doom are one of Kori’s most lethal applications of her power, being entrapped in these domes seems to completely atomize her opponents leaving nothing left of them behind. The move does seem to take a lot of energy and leave Kori unconscious.

Solar Energy Absorption

While all Tamarananens are able to absorb ultraviolet light, due to the experimentations she endured, Kori can absorb ultraviolet light, solar energy, and radiations, she can apply this in combat to either make her stronger or rob foes of their energy.

In fact, while Kryptonian’s connection to the sun is much more powerful, due this ability Koro is actual pretty effective against them, as she can take their own energy from the sun leaving them powerless. She has also absorbed energy from characters who use the sun such as Titan Hyperion.

Starbolt Aura

Kori can augment her physical strength by surrounding herself with her starbolt energy; she has used this to cut through a massive ship with it. A stronger variant of Starbolt Aura, was stated to make Kori be like a star itself and shine bright like one wielding power that's described as defying measure and imaginations. It's even passive enough to melt things around her, such as when she melted a gun just by the gun being near her skin.

Tamaranean Rage

A powerful state, and very rare for Kori to use, in this rageful state Kori loses all control and loses all sense of rationality, to the point that she threatens the planet if not pulled out of it.

It’s very rare that it will happen, and it usually takes something really dire to push her to this level of anger, but once she’s in it, she’s a force to be reckoned with, as she no longer holds back like she always does, and she even gains the ability to shoot Opictic Starbolts like she does in the cartoons.

Nova Blast

Nova Blast (sometimes called Solar Flare) is Kori's most powerful, and deadliest attack, and is used when she’s dealing with a serious threat, this is when she unleashes all the Solar Energy stored inside of herself to release a powerful explosive energy attack. This is a last resort move, as this attack will leave her tired and weakend.

Linguistic Assimilation

Via physical contact (pretty much almost always kissing), Starfire is able to assimilate and fluently speak a language not known to her, and she was able to learn English by kissing Dick Grayson. She’s even able to understand animals.

Resistances:

Decay/Deconstruction: Starfire was directly in the vicinity of Trigons deconstruction aura and was unaffected

Pressure Points: Resisted pressure points from Red Star

Transmutation: She very briefly resists being turned to glass (debatable)

Radiation: Survived being exposed to radiation that was affecting Green Lantern Jessica Cruz

Cryokinesis: Starfire was unaffected from Mr. Freeze’s ice blasts from his cold gun.

Forms

Burning Blaze

By harnessing the power of the Sol Emeralds, Blaze can transform into Burning Blaze. In this form Blaze’s power, speed, and abilities are increased exponentially, especially when it comes to her fire which becomes much larger and more powerful.

Burning Blaze is also comparable in power with Super Sonic, able to fight alongside him in the battle between Egg Salamander and Egg Wizard, which makes sense, considering the Sol Emeralds are Blaze’s variant of the Chaos Emeralds, and they restored The Chaos Emeralds, as said earlier.

She commands many of the same abilities as Super Sonic, some including Invulnerability, Flight, and possibly even more.

As said earlier, The Sol Emeralds are directly comparable to The Chaos Emeralds, and should share many of the same abilities as well, some of these include manipulating space-time, duplication, and possible energy construction.

Additionally, Chaos and Sol Emeralds can turn thoughts into power, perform miracles, form defensive barriers, and just having one emerald prevented Sonic and Tails from being altered by Eggman’s Phantom Ruby, which messed with reality and their entire history. Super Forms also allow the users to draw in and absorb light, allowing them to use this light in combat.

Super Sonic could tank the Eyes of Solaris which instantly kills on contact, bypass regeneration, create an aura so explosive that it consumes duplicates of Perfect Chaos, dispel alternate worlds created by Eggman (which Ivo calls Sonic destroying his dreams), which makes sense considering The Phantom Ruby abilities, and Super Sonic nullified the Phantom Rubies effects.

More impressively Sage stated that Sonic was transcending causality, due to resisting cyber corruption, despite its attunement being the ruling of everything in the universe that exists that has gone unchallenged since time immemorial, The End referred to its own defeat as something that transcends law and time. Super Forms can also function in the Egg Reverie Zone, a dimension where time is constantly distorted and causes Base characters to float aimlessly, displayed further when they are helpless once again upon reverting back.

On the topic of their invulnerability, Super Forms are empowered by Chaos Energy that largely stems from the will and emotions of the user, best displayed through Shadow being immune to all sources of damage when unleashing the hidden power of good or evil from within himself that allows him to tap into a reserve of enhanced Chaos Powers.

As a Super Form is a transformation empowered by the negative or positive emotions of the user, their Invulnerability is tied to emotional power harnessed through the Chaos Emeralds. Super forms are verbatim stated to be invincible, indestructible and invulnerable

They also have resistances to transmutation (and biological/disease) manipulation as shown by when it prevented Zavok's infection and cured Sonic of the Metal Virus the moment he transformed into Super Sonic. The Metal Virus in question transforms organic tissue into a metallic substance through physical contact to create a mindless Zombot.

Finally, Super Forms can produce a heat so powerful that it can burn away even The Metal Virus, so it could not regenerate back, something that’d I argue Blaze’s would be more effective in considering the nature of her powers.

Rings are the fuel for all Super Forms, and without them Super Forms can only last so long, however, at their best, Super Forms have been known to last up to a few days.

Cosmologies

Blaze

(Source for Cosmology)

The basic universe's, this includes:

  • Sonic’s Universe: The main universe where the vast majority of the games take place.

  • Silver’s Future: A literal hell on Earth, and the alternate timeline from which Silver comes from.

  • Sol Dimension: The dimension where Blaze and Marine reside. Blaze is referred to as a princess from another dimension.

  • The World of the Arabian Nights: A world made up the stories of the Arabian Nights, while it's hard to prove that all 1,001 Nights are their own separate universes, there exist a place within the Night Palace which transports you to a different space-time, so the Arabian Nights should at least consist of 2 universes.

  • The World of Camelot: A world inspired by Arthurian legends.

  • The Sequences of the Shadow the Hedgehog game: The many pathways to complete the Shadow the Hedgehog game which are saved by the game to view in the Library Option in Story Mode, there exist 326 in total.

  • Sleeping Egg Zone: A dream world created by Doctor Eggman.

  • Egg Reverie Zone: A dimension where time constantly shifts back and forth, even to points which don't exist.

  • Null Space: A dimension described as an endless void of nothingness.

  • Chaotic Inferno Zone: The homeworld of the Ifrit.

  • Cyber Space: A digital world created by the abstract feelings of the Ancients.

  • Cyberspace: Another digital world which appeared in Shadow the Hedgehog which relays information to and from Earth. There exists at least 2 Cyberspaces, the United Federation and the Eggman Empire.

  • Aqua Planet Zone’s dimension: The dimension where Aqua Planet Zone resides.

  • Flicky Dimension: The parallel dimension where the Flickies reside.

  • Special Stage Universe (Sonic Chaos): The universe where the Special Stages take residence in Sonic Chaos, differing to the other Special Stages, are all stated to reside in a single universe.

  • Stardust Speedway’s Bad Future: The dystopian future of Stardust Speedway.

  • Sonic Riders’ Digital Dimension

  • Shatterverse: The Shatterverse is a multiverse which was created by the good doctor playing Sonic into breaking the Paradox Prism  there are stated to be a number of Shatterspaces (alternate realities birthed from the universe's split), but so far the only we know that exist are:

  • New Yoke City: A dystopian world which is ruled with an iron fist by the Chaos Council

  • No Place: A dimension which contain an endless expanse of ocean

  • Bozcage Maze: A dimension containing a thick jungle

  • The Grim: A dimension devoid of life and covered by a vast desert

  • Ghost Hill: The ghostly and corrupted remains of the original Green Hill

  • Egg Toy Land: A twisted toy world created by Eggman

Special Stages are where The Chaos Emeralds reside in a lot of the games, they are alternate realities, an example includes Fang's dimension. It is implied in Rush they are entered by dimensional distortions.

Outside of the 14 in 3&k, there are seven special stages in each game, multiply that by the number of games they feature (19), you get 140 dimensions.

Maginaryworld is where Illumina, the Forcejewels and the Precioustone reside. It is a dream world created from the dreams of people in other dimensions through the power of the Precioustone, and contains parts of everyone's dreams. Maginaryworld was almost plunged into darkness by Void when he shattered the perfected Precioustone into pieces.

Dreams and reality coexist in Maginaryworld, everyone's dreams exist separately, with Illumina manifesting in each of the quartet's dreams. We can assume that there exist as many dream worlds as beings who are capable of dreaming, with the Maginaryworld being stated to be the source of all dreams across all dimensions.

Why am I still talking about dreams, anyway dreams are shown to contain starry skies and nebulae and large celestial bodies. Visions of the past are considered as dreams. One example as supporting evidence of dreams being universe level in size is, Chao in Space animation, in which a Chao dreams of an interstellar battle in deep space.

In it we see numerous galaxies in the same manner that is shown in the dreams world located within the Maginaryworld. Wishes and Desires can become real in MaginaryWorld, like how Lumina states “Maginaryworld... The world where everyone's dreams come true... Precioustone... The crystalized essence of everyone's dreams... But... There are many different kinds of dreams. Ambition, Possession, Domination... These are dreams from the dark realm. Is that... Void?”

Any desire like The End's goal to "tear down the walls between dimension and consume all" have a place in MaginaryWorld.

Then we have the Dreamscape worlds where dreams can come true once a person is put to sleep by the Reverie. The Reverie artifact can make dream worlds become real, albeit only once a millennium,  while Maginary is not directly mentioned it's still connected since Maginary is the source of all dreams, and more so, Ariem does state she has creators who enforces rules on her, likely referencing Illumina, who is the only other confirmed dreamweaver in the series, and Illumina possesses Void’s energy within itself; a being who is required for dreams to existThe realm also has its own flow of time.

To wrap this section up, there is a 4th dimensional space where all dreams are stored and also Illumina's dream. It's also referred to as an "infinite 4-dimensional space”.

The otherworld comedy story, advertisements mentioned how the final battle takes place in an "infinite super other-dimensional space". Null Space is confirmed to be infinite in size and an endless void.

White Space has no sort of time, Time Eater's lair (which is at the end of time) contains an infinite tunnelwhich is reinforced as the end of time, still has a flow of time.

Crisis City is called a universe.

Should be mentioned that in episode four of TailsTube, our fox boy genius mentions that the multiverse contains endless possibilities and the possibility of infinite parallel Sonics existing and possibly confirming the existence of infinite universes. Ian Flynn also backs this up. Thus this remains a huge possibility tho.

(Shoutout to Ishi_Yuki once more when it comes to Cosmology)

Starfire

(Source for Cosmology)

DC’s cosmology is…huge to say the least, it has a single infinite universe that expands into infinity. There are 52 universes that serve as the “main multiverse” with an infinite number more in the grander scope of the greater multiverse. Prime Earth is the main universe, the universe where all the main changes occur, which is the metaverse.

The Prime Earth and all other universes surrounding it comes an infinite number of universes and timelines that branch off with every event and non-event. This happens every moment and keeps going. These universes contain pivotal points which have countless infinity worth of distinct universes branching off from them.

This multiverse and all the infinite multiverses exist within the Orrery of Worlds, which is entangled with the Bleedspace (the lifeblood of the multiverse), which separates universes. Ultramenstrum, which is a component of Bleed, is known by even the Monitors and respected for its powerful healing properties. Both the Orrery and Bleed contain infinite universes, multiverses, and numerous spatial dimensions. Above all that is the Speed Force (get fucked Archie Sonic).

Above even the Speed Force is The Sphere Of The Gods, a conceptual realm that’s home to archetypal entities of jungian or platonic-like nature, which is formed around pure possibility around Hecate. Home to all spiritual and mystical energies in the multiverse, and whose residents are strengthened by the power of belief.

And beyond EVEN ALL OF THIS, is the Collective Unconscious and the Comic Book Limbo, the latter contains forgotten characters. In Limbo, no time, no stories. Moreso, even beyond all that shit, is The Monitor Sphere, home of the Monitors. In this realm, everything is realer than real and more profound. The archetypal from an archetypal view as it houses primal forms such as the Monitors.

Then higher than that, is World Tree (also called Yggdrasil), which created elemental sources such as the Green and the Red. Its antithesis would be Maha Pralaya, the void of nonexistence that preceded creation.

Finally, there is The Source Wall, which is at the edge of the DC entire creation and thensome, its an omnipresent border that flows across all universes, multiverses, and dimensions in DC. It is the final edge before all realms on the map become one with the Overvoid. However, there is a good possibility the 6th dimension of Perpetua is beyond the Source Wall, tho DC hasn’t confirmed that yet. Beyond all that shit is the ultimate creator of all thing’s DC, is the presence.

The Source is his energy and Overvoid is the canvas upon which this energy is expelled to create all things.

A more in depth look at the DC’s cosmology here. Thanks again to the G1 Blog team.

Scaling

Blaze

Sonic, Shadow, and Silver

Sonic The Hedgehog, The Blue Blur and Hero of The Wind, is one of if not the strongest character in the series, despite all that, Blaze has proven that she’s more than a match for the Blue Blur, equalling him in both speed and strength in both Base Form and Super.

Considering that Blaze is comparable to Sonic in both Base and Super, she should be comparable to Mr. Ultimate Lifeform himself, given that he can also match Sonic in power. And during the making of this blog, as stated earlier, Ian Flynn confirmed that the only other hero besides Sonic, that could match Shadow, was Blaze.

As for her weed haired (boyfriend) best friend, Silver is incredibly powerful, no doubt, but compared to Blaze, it’s no use!

Sonic The Hedgehog

  • Alongside Shadow defeated Ultimate Emerl, who absorbed energy from The Final Egg Buster, which was capable of destroying an entire cluster of stars (Multi Solar System)

  • Fought Dark Gaia in base form, who broke open the planet and at the time was far more stronger (7.2 yottatons of TNT)

Shadow The Hedgehog

Silver The Hedgehog

Doctor Eggman and Allies

With her comparability to the three main hedgehogs, Blaze is a shoe-in for scaling to the good doctor and his creations.

Super Level Threats

Starfire

The Teen Titans

Starfire is consistently referred to as the strongest Titan, with Beast Boy even referring to her as such so naturally she scales to anything her teammates can do.

Donna Troy

Kori and Donna are consistently shown to be each other equal, to the point where Donna has admitted that Kori can kill her and in sparring matches Kori actually has Donna beaten, so scaling to Donna is acceptable.

Wonder Woman

There are statements of Kori being on the same level of skill as Diana, and she even has hurt and stalemated Diana before including one shotting her in Pre-Crisis. At her best, I’d say Diana is the stronger of the two, but Kori has some good showings of standing next to one of the Trinity of DC. It also makes sense, considering Donna has been stated to be almost on Diana level too, and Kori is comparable, if not stronger than Donna.

Nightwing

Ah, Dick Grayson, the first and best Robin, and Kori first love (and best one lets be for real), given that he’s just a human, Kori scales to everything he’s done.

Raven (Debatable)

Raven is an interesting case, as Starfire is considered the most powerful member of the Titans, however, that’s simply not true, Raven is. Now Kori is physically stronger but still. What’s even crazier is that Kori was stated to be the only one who can drive off Demon Raven, but like, that version of Raven has beaten all the Titans before. Now she can certainly hurt Demon Raven, even in recent showings. Best I can tell is that maybe there was a time that Kori could beat Demon Raven, but then she got stronger. Kori can still hurt her to a degree, heck one time with Cyborg help, they shattered her Soul Self, but overall Raven is just way more powerful, but Kori should downscale.

New 52 Superman

Starfire was stated to be nearly as strong and as powerful as New 52 Superman. While some continuities indicate otherwise, as more often than not Superman has completely no-sold her starbolts, it shouldn’t be too hard to imagine Starfire scaling to New 52 Superman, a much weaker version of the character compared to the others.

Weaknesses

Blaze

Despite SEGA never using her in the games anymore, Blaze doesn't really have any weaknesses tbh. She used to struggle with working with others, but she doesn't anymore, I guess there is the standard Super Forms have a time limit, even at their best a Super Form will eventually subside, and in some cases leave the user tired.

She is afraid of heights, which is…strange.

Starfire

Kori doesn’t have any physical issues, or even psychological issues when it comes to combat, she’s a seasoned warrior and hero, works well under pressure for the most part, and never really truly underestimates her foes. She does have somewhat of a rage issue tho, to the point that if she loses control she’ll go on a rampage, one so violent that without a close friend or lover to pull her out of it she might just destroy the planet if left unchecked. This is also taking in the fact that she chooses to hold back, as Nightwing points out she always does, in fear that she might hurt someone.

When it comes to her starbolts, while it is a very powerful and versatile kit of energy attacks, it isn’t exactly unstoppable. She’s been affected by transmutation, even power drains, foes absorbing her own starbolts, etc.. Mind you, not every opponent who’s pulled this off over Kori were on her level of strength, she just doesn’t have enough (or any) resistances to this kind of stuff.

Also, while her Solar Absorption is great there is only so much she can take before she explodes, or hurts herself when it comes to absorbing radiation. Kori also will be left weakened after using either Starbolt Aura or Nova Blast, strong enough to fight but still weakened. Also while her powers do work without the sun, she's at her strongest within it’s presences, this is actually one of the reasons she doesn’t really like underwater missions.

The writers will not let her get with Dick Grayson, which i don’t understand, their perfect together.

Before the Verdicts

What About Starfire’s Feats Against Darkseid?

In the Justice League Odyssey comic run, Starfire and company have encounters with Darkseid, with Starfire even taking him on as shown above and even surviving attacks from him. Starfire even took down a being named Eskaton multiple times, who also took down Darkseid in the past. So shouldn’t there be more justification for her to be in a higher league of power? Unfortunately not. All of the feats above were because Starfire was increasingly amped by something known as the Multiverse Key. In issue #2 of Justice League Odyssey, Starfire interacted with the prophetic Multiverse Key, which gave her a noticeable amount of power. The fights against Darkseid and Eskaton happen in issues #10 and #12, and Cyborg even reiterates that Kori received a massive power boost from touching the Multiverse Key, which allowed her to take down such beings of immense power, so it is not a power she has normally.

Verdicts

SonallyKingKataang

Alrighty then Blaze vs Starfire, this is a matchup I quite enjoy a lot, and wanted to make a blog for just because I think the matchup is pretty neat, tho I will admit that like the majority of people I just assumed it was a stomp, and that Kory would easily pull the W, and I was more so doing this because it’s fun, and I wanted to know the difference between Strarfire in the comics compared to her cartoon appearances, and let me just say I was not left disappointed, however, what left me even more surprised is that this matchup isn’t as clear cut as I thought it would be, there’s more to it than I originally thought. Usually, I’d go last for verdicts, but I decided to switch things up this time. There’s a lot to talk about so let's get into it.

Stats

When it comes to stats, both get pretty high into their verses. Blaze is the only hero of the main cast that gets to scale to all the high tier characters in the series including scaling to Sonic, Shadow, Silver, and the Super Forms level characters.

Kory gets scaling to the majority of the Titans, pretty clear cut scaling to Donna and Diana, and at least gets downscaling to Raven.

With that said, I don’t think I need to tell you who takes AP. While Blaze is pretty powerful, especially ùin her Burning Form, Kory is a DC character, and scales to some of the most powerful heroes in the series, specifically Diana.

However, don’t count Blaze out just yet. There’s also speed to take into account, both characters are pretty fast. Blaze has consistently kept up with and is capable of beating Sonic The Hedgehog, while Kory can travel light years.

Scaling to other characters both would get to immeasurable to infinite speeds, putting them both equal in terms of speed. It’s possible due to scaling to Sonic, Blaze might be faster in terms of finite speeds, but both are immeasurable so it doesn’t really matter.

Abilities/Arsenal

This was interesting to say the least, Kory Solar Absorption is nuts, any and all forms of Solar Energy, Radiations, and ultraviolet light Kory can absorb it. Her Starbolts have tons of variety that will keep Blaze on her toes….but none of that really matters.

Frankly speaking, Blaze has tons of abilities that could one-shot Starfire, all of which Kory has fallen prey to before. Transmutation, through either the Wisp or Ring Time could do her in( and while Wisp can’t be used in Super Forms, items boxes can be used, and y’know what item box Blaze could use…Ring Time), sealing, time stops, drawing on positive and negative energies, drawing onto light, and possible mental manipulations.

Finally, Blaze’s non-explained ability to send herself or others to different dimensions would be a great way to secure the W, alongside the fact that her Super Form grants her invulnerability.

Tertiary Factors

These usually don't matter but with a matchup where both parties have ways to one-shot the other, these factors do matter. When it comes to skill, Kory is definitely the superior fighter, being on the same level of skill as Wonder Woman ensures that, alongside her own personal training.

This is not to say Blaze isn’t skilled in her own right, and I’d argue that she’s not entirely outclassed either, Blaze has defeated Knuckles who is a master martial artist, and is on equal skill as Sonic, Shadow and Silver, guys who’s fought beings with greater level of skill and knowledge than themselves (Solaris, Emerl, The End etc) and won. Blaze being able to fight in perfect coordination with Silver without their memories is impressive too.

Then finally one more thing I’d bring up is Tamaranean Rage, usually in a matchup that's purely stats based, Kory’s rage mode wouldn’t be terrible, however, in a matchup where both have ways to put the other down in one-shot, I’d argue it actually would be bad for Kory, as she loses all control and is just pure anger, which Blaze could capitalize on due to her calmer mindset, and her invulnerability in her Super Form would also be great in helping with this.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I went into this blog thinking Kory stomped gg, and while she takes AP and skill handily, I think Blaze has the abilities, equal speed, and calmer demeanor to win this battle between fiery princesses.

Folks, I didn’t expect to say this, and I'm unsure how everyone else is gonna vote, but in my humble opinion, in this battle that took place in the stars only one princess came out blazing…gosh I suck at puns.

The winner is Blaze The Cat

gio789

Good day everyone, I’m gonna keep my verdict very short and simple. Power and durability definitely goes to Starfire. She has multiple blatant herald tier feats such as one shotting Diana, being stated to be capable of fending off Dark Raven, fighting Donna who can survive a nuke comparable to the big bang and fighting on par with Mongul which Blaze simply can't match without higher arguments that I dont agree with. Their speed should be relatively equal as both solidly scale to multiple infinite-immeasurable speed feats although if you don't buy those Kori would be much faster due to scaling to feats such as Diana’s shattered god feat.

As for abilities and other factors there's a bit of variety here. While Kori has some good versatility with her energy manipulation and has other helpful abilities like barriers, Blaze has better abilities overall such as sealing, transmutation and time manipulation all of which would be very helpful in the fight not to mention an invulnerable super form for a limited time. However, these abilities while on paper sound super helpful Blaze is either 1. very unlikely to use these options on her own as opposed to her usual fire manipulation and 2. these would take too much time and allow Kori to take advantage of the opening and just punch her really good. Kori also has insane energy absorption capable of draining Kryptonian’s that can be used to add even more power to her punches or other attacks. Skill and experience I’d also give to Kori. Blaze has fought and kept up with multiple skilled fighters like Sonic, Knuckles and the rest of the cast who have faced some insane threats like Eggman and Solaris however they don't compare to Kori who regularly hones her already insane fighting prowess and is compared to characters like Diana and Donna who are some of the greatest fighters in DC. She has also been called a tactical genius and faced a great variety of threats from her sister, the Justice League, her fellow Titans, Olympian Giants and even Darkseid (the goat!)

In conclusion Starfire takes it. She’s blatantly a really strong herald which helps her take stats (minus speed if you buy infinite-immeasurable for both in which case they’re tied), has more useful abilities like energy absorption and barriers and takes other factors like skill and experience. While Blaze could net a win with a few of her more deadly options like bfr or reality warping it's very highly unlikely that she would in my opinion given they’re far outside her go to moveset and would be hard to pull off against someone that's just as fast if not faster and much more skilled. Starfire wins. Also shoutout to the Starfire cosplayer I met at a comic con last weekend, she was very nice :)

Kabuto07/Pink Lily

Heyyyy ya'll!! I'm super excited to be involved in this match up!! I can say for sure I've always liked these two characters, both being some of my favs in their series, plus learning about them even more was also great, and while this is my first shot at a blog verdict, I can say for sure I took my time on it! First I wanna say that not only are Blaze and Starfire just gorgeous princesses, but also absolute QUEENS.

(the gender envy is real)

And with that said, now it's time to jump into this fiery princess fight!!!

Stats

Starting off with stats of course, as impressive as Blaze is in her base form, the real attention shifts towards her powered up form via the Sol Emeralds, Burning Blaze, which can obviously scale to the likes of super forms such as the iconic Super Sonic, who she is nearly, if not completely one-to-one with, which should let her scale to some of the strongest threats in the Sonic verse such as the Egg Wizard and Solaris, making her 4D in power at the least, most probably even higher, especially with the Jewel Scepter, which is mentioned to be above both the Chaos and Sol Emeralds in power.

Starfire on the other hand is a bit trickier to figure out, it sure got me a bit mixed up, but while Kori obviously cannot scale to the strongest of heralds like Superman, she still gets around the same ballpark as other powerful fighters in DC such as Wonder Woman, and she can at least downscale to her Titan teammate Raven. This ballpark unsurprisingly puts Starfire at Blaze's level, both reaching multiversal, but probably higher too. I think it can be pretty interpretative, but I'll say Starfire should take this rather handily.

But there's also speed to consider, and we probably have here the two series with the most iconic and discussed speed feats within the Death Battle scene, and possibly power scaling as a whole (thanks to a certain blue blur and red speedster). Blaze is of course not only adjacent but directly comparable to Sonic the Hedgehog, both in base and in their super forms together. While Starfire should be comparable to the same DC heroes mentioned before that we can use for reference. While Blaze should have better speed feats overall, this puts them both in immeasurable, making them equal in this category.

Arsenal/Abilities

And now you've got the idea down for their stats! Seemed like a scaling contest huh? But don't worry, cuz now it's time for their abilities and arsenal, some of their unique powers that define these characters! Starfire is of course a Tamaranean, which lets her absorb powers via solar energy, ultraviolet light, and radiations, but most notably, she has her iconic Starbolt powers, letting her throw tons of different laser projectiles, and she is very versatile with them, creating shields, surrounding herself in a powerful aura, creating domes that atomize whoever is caught, and her Nova Blast, letting Kori unleash all of her stored Solar Energy into one big explosive attack. The latter 2 however are practically last resort options though, as they will drain her energy and leave her in an exhausted state. And last but not least, her Tamaranean Rage, a form where she loses all control and becomes a force to be reckoned with, while this does put her into a mindless enraged state, any part of her that may have been holding back is completely out of the window.

Moving onto Blaze, you can probably tell she has a much wider array, Blaze has her invulnerable super form that can last for days along with her signature pyrokinesis powers, which she is very versatile with, she can even disperse fire itself, including beings made of fire, and can dimension travel with them as shown in the IDW comics. Looking at even more of her notable powers, she obviously has her Sol Emeralds, an equal to the Chaos Emeralds, with powers described as turning thoughts into power, healing, resurrection, time manipulation such as time stop and time travel, sealing, and even potential wish granting, and Blaze should be very knowledgeable of these as the guardian of the emeralds. Blaze also has a plethora of rings and plenty of items such as wisps, most notably the Indigo Wisp, giving Blaze a strong gravitational pull that can turn enemies into "lifeless energy for the ring material", another comparable ability Blaze can use is Ring Time, turning nearby enemies into rings automatically, these items also include many force fields, including one defending against fire related attacks. Another notable Wisp is Violet Void, which is basically turning into a black hole. Oh and she should be able to interact with intangible beings too! Along with all this are her notable resistances including cosmic radiation, curse manipulation, space-time manipulation, reality warping, corrosion manipulation, power nullification, and possibly greater transmutation.

A lot to take in I know, but overall I think we're on the same page, as impressive as Starfire's absorption and Starbolt powers are, Blaze's are going to be much more overwhelming, multiple one shot options that can negate durability, the sheer versatility of the Sol Emeralds, dimension traveling shenanigans, rings that can keep her in the game, etc. Starfire's best shot is using one of her last resort moves, either entrapping Blaze in a Starbolt dome or using her Nova Blast on her, which could be dangerous for our favorite purple feline, but just these two attacks aren't gonna compare to the wider array of Blaze's own, and thankfully for her, said options could even counter the domes themselves like the Violet Wisp, or you can even argue she can escape these attacks via dimensional travel, and the Nova Blast is gonna be hard to land when Kori's only got 1 in stock. And while Kori's Tamaranean Rage may certainly pose a threat, it will only put her at a disadvantage when confronting against Blaze's own tricks since she'll be much more susceptible plus the fact Blaze can draw on and manipulate positive and negative energies with the Sol Emeralds, speaking of which we didn't even talk about the dangerous potential of the Sol Emeralds here, which contain the powers of time stop, time travel, sealing, potential wish granting, and more, things Starfire has no real counter to. Overall, this gives Blaze multiple ways of besting Starfire in the fight, more than you could say the other way around.

Tertiary Factors

And now we are onto the tertiary factors! Y'know like the skills and experience of both combatants! I didn't think this would be the most important category for this match considering they're both skilled and talented fighters in their own right, but as you can see this match is rather tricky. With that said, Starfire being comparable to the likes of Wonder Woman and Donna Troy should be above anything Blaze can compare to, but she is nothing to scoff at either, she can hold her own against Sonic, Shadow, and Silver, legendary heroes in their own right, so while Starfire should take this category, it's not night and day. However, it does shift into Blaze's favor even more so when Kori's Tamaranean Rage gets involved, cuz as earlier mentioned, she becomes mindless and enraged, and while this would be great for a ruthless beatdown, it's not gonna be as trustworthy when Blaze's arsenal and abilities get involved, letting Blaze's cool demeanor take the spotlight.

Conclusion

Was that fun for you? It sure was for me! I could feel myself starting to like this match up even more in real time as I was working on this, and made me appreciate both characters, I'd even say these are my fav girls from their respective series, and some of my fav characters in general! But it's time to reach the conclusion of this verdict, and I have to say this would definitely be a tense fight! Starfire is a powerful warrior, stronger and more skilled than Blaze, and both of these princesses can reach incalculable speeds, while Blaze is a skilled powerhouse that takes the upper hand in arsenal and abilities. All that said, that's all this super sonic cat needs, her vast versatility of powers and tools along with her matching speed and cool attitude should let her overwhelm and best the Tamaranean Titan. This was a fun match to rundown, and the fight will surely get heated, but our Princess of Tameran will unfortunately go out in a blaze.

  • The Winner is Blaze the Cat!

Timewarpiaman

So my first prediction blog, I came into this with little to no experience on both characters so hopefully this balances things out a little. I'll break this down into sections; skill, stats and arsernal and ability.

Skill

Blaze being able to fight Silver despite not remembering him is impressive and she definitely has the skill being able to match wits with Sonic & knuckles but I'd have to give this to Starfire.

It's likely Blaze was able to fight Silver on nothing but muscle memory based off their having fought each other so many times where as Kory's experience fighting aliens, robots and wizards (the big three as Falcon would put it) means she has more experience fighting off a more varied amount of opponents.

Kory's training has helped her to take on people like Wonder Woman who has had way more experience fighting than Knuckles which leads me to believe Starfire takes this easily

0 - 1

Stats:

This is a hard one, both of them have absolutely done some impressive things. Based off what I've read speed wise Starfire can dodge lasers almost head on and was able to fly from Earth to Tameran in a relatively small time frame but I don't feel right giving her complete scaling to say Wally West who shouldn't be comparable at all. Meanwhile Blaze scales to Sonic the Hedgehog who...*checks* yeah he fast. He real fast. Fast enough to outran a black hole, fast enough that he's highfived himself giving speed to Blaze,

Power and durability however is a different story: I'd have said Kory could scale to Harbinger and Donna Troy who with her Titan Seed is comparable to the gods (y'know where Shazam gets his powers) while Blaze scales to beings such as The End and Solaris who could lift destroy all of the Sonic cosmology

This may sound unfair to Sonic fans but I'd have to give this to Kory. Both characters have fought against the best of their respective universes enough times where it's fair to scale them and sadly one of them is a DC Herald. Kory simply has a bigger sandbox to play in to the point I don't think Blaze would last long against her especially when you factor in possible high-scaling for Starfire

0 - 2 (although honestly if you don't buy the higher scaling I could see Blaze taking this)

Arsernal and Abilities

Both characters have some incredible abilities but I think this comes down to one ability: Pyrokinesis. Both characters have the means of controlling the others powers except Blaze's power is mainly controlling fire while Starfire is able to control all things light based meaning it'll be much harder for Blaze to siphon Kory's energy while Kory has shown she can absolutely do the same to Blaze.

Even presuming Blaze could steal Kory's energy she's had experience with foes like this such as when Neutron attempted to siphon her energy...so she filled him with so much of it he exploded and Neutron was said to be a living nuclear reactor.

Where this becomes more difficult for Starfire however is Blaze's amount of gear that could swing this in her favor. The Sol Emeralds can turn thought into reality offering Blaze a number of abilities, while Kory has fought foes with these powers she hasn't really to the best of my knowledge fought someone with ALL of these powers meaning with her superior speed Blaze could in theory get the best of Kory. Possibly hammer space also means she'll get all her gear like the Jeweled Scepter

So while Starfire has the edge powers wise I'd say with the use of her super-speed as well as her impressive gear Blaze takes this one

1 - 2

In conclusion while Blaze's gear and abilities should help her keep fighting in this fiery battle, Starfire's sheer FIREpower as well as her superior experience and skill should help her kick tail. Looks like this cat's chances of winning are going up in blazes. I'm going with Starfire on this.

Santee Sherm “The Record Keeper”

Here’s my verdict for why Starfire wins:

Speed:

Can they even fight, or does one statue the other? Blaze is pretty easy, she’d have immeasurable speed due to scaling to the time eater. Starfire has more…interesting scaling. She’s shown to be comparable to characters like New 52 Superman and Wonder Woman, who deals with flash tiers and Darkseid in speed. If the question was could Wonder Woman or New 52 Superman outspeed blaze, I’d say yes. Characters like Flash and Darkseid are on such a high place on a cosmologically ridiculous speed scaling chain that they’d be several paces beyond traditional immeasurable speed. Buuuuuut, Starfire probably shouldn’t get such generous speed scaling. While keeping up with characters like Wonder Woman and New 52 Superman would imply she isn’t infinitely slower or statued by them, Wonder Woman and Superman tend to lock in against characters like Darkseid and Flash, and Starfire wouldn’t receive the same treatment. Now she should still downscale and that would put her at immeasurable speed as well, but she’d be closer to a baseline immeasurable speed, similar to sonic and blaze. I believe Blaze and Starfire should be at a similar speed and could exchange blows. Blaze should be statued if she were to fight someone like Darkseid, Flash, or a serious Wonder Woman, but against someone like Starfire she should be fast enough to react and counter attack.

Strength:

Now as for who hits harder and who can take a hit harder, I gotta say Starfire when she locks in should be significantly stronger than Blaze, or even Burning Blaze. Starfire at her best can contend with some heavy hitters in DC that would be more powerful than even a theoretical 6D sonic character. Some say Starfire isn’t supposed to be that strong, but Starfire is meant to be the big guy of the teen titans. If they need someone to hold off black Adam, Demon Raven, or Wonder Woman, thats Starfire’s job. If someone is going to destroy Trigon’s Skeleton or Brainiac’s Ship, Starfire is who’s going to step up to the plate. There’s a reason she’s considered one of the strongest aliens on the planet. While she might be close to the bottom of the tier, she still stands shoulder to shoulder with the Justice League’s brawlers. She’s the Teen Titan’s herald tier stat brick-that’s why she keeps getting jobbed and taken out. Her role is to deal with the raw power of an opponent, and she could quickly over power a lot of teen titans enemies if she isn’t temporarily taken out of the picture.

And there’s no doubt in my head that dc high tiers outmuscle the sonic verse. They just have so many dimensional layers in their cosmology, and that’s not even getting into the realms in DC that go beyond the math of dimensions. Trigon for example should be able to one shot the sonic cosmology. If Starfire can one shot Trigon’s Skeleton, she should be able to one shot any sonic character.

Arsenal and Abilities:

However, even if she’d get one shot, Blaze isn’t out of the fight yet. Blaze’s rings would let her deal with being one shot, since rings seem to basically turn the user intangible and make it so the damage didn’t happen. So depending on how she uses her rings, she’d be able to tank multiple hits from Starfire. This won’t last forever, as Blaze’s pool of rings is limited, but it would allow her to survive a couple hits and stay in the fight.

So does Blaze having any options to take out Starfire despite the strength gap? Based on Starfire’s shoddy history against hax, I’d say yeah. She has no resistance to transmutation, so she could probably be turned into rings. She has no resistance to time stop, so Blaze could stop time to give herself some breathing room, and she has no resistance to sealing, so Blaze could seal her in an alternate dimension.

However, these options seem relatively unlikely to me. Sealing requires time to pull off, and Blaze can’t just stop time to circumvent that issue, because she’d be using the sol emeralds to do either of those things. While she has a connection to them, I don’t think she’s ever been shown to have the skill to use multiple of their abilities at the same time. And time stop alone could give Blaze some breathing room, but it wouldn’t actually solve the problem. Really only ring time seems viable to me.

So the question is what would happen first-Starfire kills Blaze enough times for Blaze to run out of rings, or Blaze using ring time to transmute Starfire?

Tertiary Factors + Conclusion:

This is where a tertiary factor that usually doesn’t matter in debates essentially decides the fight for me-Skill and Experience. Blaze is certainly a master martial artist in her own right, and has been around the block, but she can’t compare to having a similar level of combat skill as Wonder Woman, or the sheer amount of adventures Starfire has been on. Due to having similar speed, Starfire’s skill and experience would let her keep the pressure on, scoring those one shot hits in very reliably and not giving Blaze time to figure out her win condition. Even if Blaze uses time stop to get away, Starfire could probably figure out where she went after so many years dealing with the bat family.

In conclusion, I think Starfire wins because she just has to fight like she always does and score maybe a dozen hits on Blaze, while Blaze would have to do something that is pretty far from her usual playbook while also contending with someone who is just as fast, essentially indestructible, and incredibly skilled.

While Blaze winning isn’t impossible, her sol wincon would require the stars to align, and while Star’s victory might eat up some time, Blaze can’t compete with this teen’s titanic power.

Paul

Ahhhhh, Blaze vs Starfire. A matchup I originally was definitely not a fan of because Blaze got stomped badly, and possibly an even more mind warping blog for SonallyKing to make than Bowser vs Eggman.

Part of me of course simply wants to go "Starfire is vulnerable to transmutation so Blaze just uses an item and turns her into rings!" but obviously it's not that simple. Blaze would have to be much faster and go for such a specific wincon in order to achieve this.

It's very easy to go "Starfire is DC so she wins this" but Blaze literally has star level power on her side as well as abilities and weapons that involve multiple universes.

This is a case where directly scaling to and matching Game Sonic is far more interesting than trying to use Archie just because "it's stronger".

This isn't one I can wrap my head around cosmology very well on, but my gut truly tells me to stand with Blaze on this one. Her longtime experience and skills, extremely high levels of speed and power even before using more powerful forms, and potentially devastating weaponry could give her a win against Starfire if she is not outclassed and can keep her focus enough to turn the tide of battle.

(Like all my verdicts, I will cover one specific moment or attribute here. Starfire has let not only her rage overcome her but like many fighters, it leaves one ridiculously open and vulnerable against a well prepared opponent. Don Krieg of all people once said "there's no enemy as easy to kill as an enraged one", and Starfire even in her earliest years has become so blinded with raw anger and emotion that she could not feel or recognize any other feelings or memories beyond the one she was about to kill. (see The New Teen Titans #16)

Despite her less than friendly introduction to Sonic, Blaze is a very calm and collected fighter and extremely good at staying focused in a fight, even in the most intense of situations. This is a clear benefit should the fight become too.....*heated*.)

Morkez Marihser

Fun fact, Starfire is canonically a catgirl.

Her people are descended from felines rather than primates, and it can be seen back in her debut when she was deliberately depicted with cat-like eyes by George Perez…whose art also deliberately depicted her as ‘full-figured’ while having Raven be practically skeletal in contrast. Why bring this up? Because this is the internet, and if I had to be cursed with this knowledge, SO DO YOU! Especially as it adds a connection to this fight that nobody wanted, yet people still insisted there WERE no connections here besides purple clothing and fire. There are quite a few, AND NOW THIS ONE! I HAVE PROVEN YOU WRONG! AHAHAHAHAHAHA–

…did I have a point when I decided to write stuff for this? Oh yeah.

So, who wins? This is one of those biggest cases of “just because you have so many wincons, doesn’t mean you win” that I’ve ever seen. Between being as fast as she is, as skilled as she is, as smart as she is, and having gone through as much @#$% as she has, Blaze’s transmutation stuff will not work on Starfire unless leaves herself twice as open as her New 52 costume. (Not to mention, she hasn’t even turned anything more than standard enemies into rings and the other transmutations are…herself!)

The Wonder Woman fight alone shows me that in a fair fight, Koriand’r can win against godkillers. (REFERENCE–) And in an unfair fight, well, why hold back? And that she jobs so often isn’t going to come into play here, that’s just DC having her be the redheaded, orange, skimpy Worf. Plus, just…read Justice League Odyssey. It’s nuts. And even with limiting factors, they REMAIN nuts.

Now, as a big fan of Starfire, especially comic Starfire as I am very tired of people acting as if the Glen Murakami series was the beginning and baseline of her existence, does NOT mean I don’t give Blaze her fair shake. I actually quite like her and am relieved to see that she comes as close as she does. I’m not sure that I buy everything given to her to place her that high for speed, though AP seems solid and she of course has better versatility. But with what Starfire has dealt with, Blaze actively needs a lot more of an edge with which to use that versatility. Compared to Kori who needs to hit her. Really hard. A couple times. And maybe stall out Burning Blaze here or there.

The one thing I will give Blaze is that Kori doesn’t actively absorb fire. But she does absorb solar radiation. And even other forms of radiation associated with…well, shall we say, DC doing anime BS. So while normal fire at a strong enough level can hurt Starfire, the more powerful Blaze goes…it kinda works against her? It’s hard to get a clear definition on what kind of radiation the Sol Emeralds have, but even if I can’t have her using that, she is still either able to concentrate enough of her own power to unleash it in devastating ways Blaze cannot handle, or fly to a nearby star and take care of things that way. Which is basically a battlefield swap she takes advantage of in a lesser version of how Superman does the same. Refuel, don’t overdo it, and then unleash it…boom. It’s more likely that Blaze will run out of time in her Burning form than Starfire will run out of suns to refuel with. (And we don’t have to worry about the environment in space with that much solar wind and radiation gone missing because of a redheaded tourist!)

It’d take quite a bit of Sol searching if I went with another verdict here. Then there’d be X’Hal to pay. The winner is Princess Koriand’r of Tamaran, AKA, Starfire. AKA DC’s canonical catgirl. (I WILL SCAR YOU WITH THIS INFORMATION FOR LIFE–)

Thank you to SKK for having me on, and I was happy to write the script for this fight. Big fan of the MU and I wanted to bring out the many opportunities this has.

Bang

Another side quest! If it involves DC Comics…yeah I’ll be there (regrettably).

Being honest I am not a fan of this matchup but the opportunity to give Starfire a proper handshake is one I won’t pass up. The Teen Titans to this day are a beloved IP that is among one of my favorite things about DC, and Starfire’s really freaking great (if you ignore all of New 52). So here she is against Blaze the Cat, let’s talk about the debate.

Starting with stats, I am much more knowledgeable on Starfires side so that’ll be easier to talk about. Her power has been compared to solar flares, and her energy absorption abilities give her insane physical abilities, to the point where she performs feats like Starfire igniting the Sepulkore with her power, which holds an entire universe, and has survived universe-threatening black holes that warp reality and tear apart space. When it comes to her in relation to the DC heavy hitters, there’s a lot of comparisons to be made. Starfire is usually the muscle of the Teen Titans depending on the roster, and when it comes down to taking on the truly powerful threats physically, Starfire is the one for the job, which means her experience in fighting heavy hitters is quite extensive. She’s taken on enemies of Superman and the Justice League such as the Extremists, Atlas, the Darkstars, or the Manhunters. Now that doesn’t necessarily translate to being outright equal to someone like Superman or Flash, but those are also two extreme examples, and Starfire’s thrown down with Wonder Woman, and someone named Envy with her powers. She's also survived blasts from heavy hitters like Orion, and supplementary statements like Oracle stating her threat level might be more problematic than Black Adam when possessed, there’s a lot of evidence to point to Starfire scaling to heavy hitters such Wonder Woman, who has defeated beings as powerful as Nemesis, who forced all of the multiversal Olympic Gods out of Mt. Olympus. So Starfire’s stats can go up to the multiversal+ category through scaling, and at worst universal+ level from her own feats alone.

Blaze gets similar leeway; unfortunately I am not equipped to go too in-depth other then reiterate the stats I know of for her, which can also range from universal to multiversal+, due to several enemies such as Solaris or the End threatening the entire Sonic cosmology, though this would lend more to Burning Blaze, as base Blaze is going to be much weaker then Kori overall in my opinion. However, the heavy hitters of DC in my opinion far outweigh those of Sonic, as mentioned with the Wonder Woman feats, there are other characters Starfire would scale to like Donna Troy, who has her own comparisons to the Gods of DC, and going down a rabbit hole would just give Starfire better scaling then Blaze. Although Burning Blaze would increasingly tip the scales, Starfire has similar power boost options due to her Tamaranean physiology and solar absorption of her own.

Speed I think is debatable. At worst, Starfire would blitz with finite ends due to scaling purposes again, and she herself is no stranger to flying through countless light-years and across huge celestial bodies in short timeframes, but if you assume the highest of highs for both they’d just scale to immeasurable feats performed by other people, such as Starfire scaling to Green Lanterns or Wonder Woman going fast enough to nearly breach the Speed Force.

Abilities are gonna be a big part of where the fight goes, and Starfire’s are simpler to talk about then Blaze’s due to being a simple toolkit. Her starbolts allow her to shoot energy blasts, eyebeams, make shields and augment her punching, and many other applications. More impressive than that however is her energy absorption abilities, being able to completely drain the likes of Bizarro and other Kryptonians with her energy absorption to empower herself, and can use all of her energy reserves into a nova blast, which is pretty much the equivalent of Superman’s solar flare, with a drawback if used due to leaving her weakened. Blaze’s bread and butter is fire and with it comes a lot of techniques like making tornadoes or similarly augmenting her physicals. When Burning Blaze/Sol Emeralds come into play, more unique abilities come out like energy constructs, warping reality, and in general manipulating chaos energy.

It's hard for me to comment on what powers Blaze can and can’t use, but as others have said, the more devastating abilities like sealing Starfire away would take too long to pull off, or are just powers she hasn’t ever canonically done before, especially some of the crazier ones like stopping time. In a fight like this, their main power sets are a lot more at large going to be used, and it's here that I think Starfire has an advantage. While the energy of the Sol Emeralds is somewhat foreign, the array of energies Starfire has absorbed means that at the very least, attacks like energy constructs will be happily absorbed by Starfire, giving her even more power. And while she can’t use fire, given fire is a side effect of her starbolts in most cases, she isn’t fighting an impossible type of power she has never seen before. And given how they fight, Starfire has multiple options to stay in the fight even against Burning Blaze, especially with energy absorption and her own starbolts, which grant her a wide range of effects such as paralysis and even shields, which could stall out Blaze enough.

In terms of tertiary factors, Starfire I think has Blaze beat more solidly in all of these categories. She’s far more skilled, being compared to the likes of Wonder Woman, one of the best fighters on the planet period, and has mastery in multiple weapons and has trained all her life to fight. This would by extension means she is tactical, capable of strategy and quick thinking, of which Blaze is as well, but Kori’s I think is far better and the whole idea that her head isn’t cool doesn’t apply nearly as often unless its more occasional instances where she loses her cool for a good reason, like Blackfire. She would have the skill to avoid Blaze’s deadlier attacks and just overwhelm Blaze close up.

Overall I’m siding with Starfire. I think her stat arguments get more believable with her absorption methods, and her skill and versatile toolkit means she could stall out Burning Blaze or still overwhelm her by absorbing the Sol Emeralds energy, and the more weird chaos abilities are stuff Blaze is more foreign to compared to other users, and her go-to abilities wouldn’t really be as effective as Starfire’s abilities, so ultimately I think Starfire wins this one.

Thanks to Sonally for having me and I hope whoever reads this gains a better understanding on what Starfire is capable of.

MKF4

Uh oh reality, it’s MKF4 on another blog. For two franchises that give him a bit of a headache in debating. Why am I here? I don’t know, I just thought it would be fun. Am I having fun? Only time will tell. Maybe.

Anyway, I suppose we’d best get on to business with our matchup between Blaze and Starfire, or else SonallyKingKataang might slap me for taking too long. Except that’s impossible, because this is the internet and as such I cannot be reached. Take THAT, Kataang! I can filibuster all I want!

But I won’t do that because that would be rude.

Frankly, I feel like the verdicts above me break down the dynamic pretty well, so I won’t waste my time boring you with the exact same song and dance we’re all familiar with. Ye olden DC AP slaps the entire Sonic franchise into nothingness casually (and I personally think a lot of high ends for Sonic tend to be extremely flowery statements that I find questionable), but Blaze has more in the hax department. Starfire’s a bit of a flying brick.

Then of course there’s the immeasurable debate. Like with 6D Sonic I’m not fully sold on immeasurable Sonic stuff, but for the sake of conversation let’s just go ahead and say that Blaze is immeasurable. She’s equal speed at best. If you really want to go crazy, Wonder Woman’s stupid Speed Force thing could be argued to dwarf anything in Sonic, because Speed Force. We don’t need to elaborate further on this. If we really wanted to play that kind of game, I’d say Starfire has the edge, but because I’m feeling generous to Blaze, we’ll go ahead and say they’re equals there.

Basically, the debate our above verdicts appear to be going with is that either side can one-shot and that it as such comes down to who will land it first. Let’s start with Starfire’s win-conditions. What does she need to do to win?

That’s correct, she needs to hit Blaze really hard.

Honestly given the AP gap I suppose even just grazing Blaze would do the trick. Given all of Starfire’s fancy beams and junk, that’s not exactly a tall order, she has plenty of options to land her shot both close and from afar. And no, I don’t think Burning Blaze’s invulnerability would save her here. That’s a massive NLF at absolute best, and we’ve seen that enough power can damage Super Forms before. Solaris has done it, Super Shadow did it to Super Sonic in Sonic X, and even foes like Dark Oak have managed to put dents into Super forms before.

Yeah, there’s obviously a limit on invincibility.

Sure, against foes without enough punch I can buy them being outright invulnerable, but there’s the problem. Starfire has more than enough punch to just slap right through any kind of Super form, no sweat. Simple as that.

So, there’s Starfire, as for Blaze, she has to land some very specific hax. BFR, sealing, transmutation, that sort of thing. We can go ahead and assume these would work, Starfire has fallen to similar rubbish in the past for some reason, so if Blaze is able to pull one off, she might just take the win. However, there are a few existing problems that make it where I’m just not convinced this is going to happen.

For starters, there’s skill. Starfire is a way better fighter than Blaze. Sure, Blaze can keep up with the likes of Sonic, Knuckles, and Silver, but none of them are exactly the masters of combat that somebody like Wonder Woman is. They’re good, mind you, but none of them are armed with the kind of proficiency, let alone training, that Diana is bringing to the table. Plus, a lot of their fighting styles tend to be more improvisational (or Spin Dash into the enemy REALLY hard) and situational, outside of Rouge’s government training. Which, of course, is just not on the same level as Diana. Starfire is a way better fighter than Blaze, it’s pretty clear-cut. This already makes it that much harder for Blaze to get the kind of opening she would need to land a complex hax, let alone keep Starfire from punching or blasting her a single time.

And then there’s the matter of those hax in general. And the fact that Burning Blaze has never canonically used them. Ever.

Alright, alright, fine. The atomic deconstruction is from the Indigo Asteroid Wisp. Which, of course, Blaze can’t use as a Super form, meaning that Starfire just shooting or dodging her becomes all the easier as we would very much be dealing with a nasty blitz the second Blaze pops out of Burning form. Let’s face it. 99% of the time Burning Blaze is a fire shooting brick. Just like Starfire, ironically enough.

Okay yeah Starfire doesn’t actually shoot fire. Just go with it.

Blaze has never actually done a lot of the hax you have to argue for her to win. The BFR is fair given her dimension hopping with the Sol Emeralds, but she’s never done that in active combat, let alone all the other hax. This is already being kind of generous to her. But even if she did have them, she has never once looked at a powerful foe and immediately gone “hmm yes this looks bad, I ought to stop time or seal them away from existence in order to win.” She goes for the fire and “hit them REALLY hard” strategy first and foremost. Like most Sonic characters that are not named Shadow or Silver.

Sure, Blaze’s cooler head and strategy means she COULD realize she needs to pull one of those to win, but by the time that happens it would be too late. The odds of Blaze lasting long enough before Starfire nukes her into next week are slim to say the least, especially given the latter is way more skilled. You have to hope Starfire’s aim is really, really bad and that Blaze does something completely out of character out the gate for her to win. It’s not pretty.

Don’t get me wrong, Blaze is awesome. She’s one of my favorite Sonic characters. But I just don’t see how she has really any shot at winning this. Her arguments require a lot more work than Starfire’s own, which is already a bit concerning for me. Ultimately, I just think Starfire has the power, skill, and speed needed to take down the Sol Emeralds’ guardian. The winner is Starfire.

I don’t have any puns, sorry. Hope you’ve enjoyed the blog!

(Sonally here: This might be MKF4 shortest verdict written ...and it's still one of the longest verdict in the blog LMFAO!!)

Ivan*kirbo

Hello everyone reading this blog! Ivan*kirbo here! A.K.A, a guy who really admires Dimentio and Magolor! I’ve been doing a lot of blogs from Sonally (which I am very thankful for, seeing as they are so fun to make verdicts for), but this may be the hardest one I’ve had to decide a winner for! Not because of how close the stats are or how much hax the two had, but mainly because of how hard it was to lock down specific stats for these two! Starfire herself is a big doozy, seeing as she’s very inconsistent in power. At one point, she’s getting tossed around by Dr. Light, the next she’s matching stats with Wonder Woman and Raven! But a lot of comic book characters, especially D.C, are like that so maybe I should just get better. With all that said, I can’t wait to discuss this matchup and my thoughts on the winner! Let’s burn this debate and find out the winner!

Strength and durability:

Our first stat is predictably tricky to find out. Blaze in base is capable of matching base Shadow and Sonic, who scale up to multi solar system level! There are higher arguments for base Sonic characters, but let’s move on to the super forms, seeing as they are the strongest a Sonic character can get!

Burning Blaze can match the Egg Wizard who could fuse her universe with Sonic’s and the Egg Salamander, who could potentially make Eggmanland on a different plane of existence! That’s at least multiversal to low complex multiversal! Though, I do find LCM for Blaze a bit iffy, seeing as they are only from two feats, one of which required three super forms to achieve and the other needing Sonic’s help. Though let’s include LCM feats for Blaze, just to make things more interesting!

Starfire can scale to Wonder Woman with Donna Troy scaling. Wonder Woman is stated to be stronger than Zatanna, who could keep up with beings who can destroy D.C’s entire cosmology! And with scaling to Raven, Starfire should be able to get Outer stats, right? Not exactly.

The comics all state Starfire can rarely keep up with these people (besides from Wonder Woman, who has never actually fought Zatanna). But since we’re giving Blaze the benefit of the doubt and giving her the LCM stuff, it’s only fair for Starfire to get her best herald tier stuff. And since both can take attacks from beings around similar power, durability should be the same. Starfire takes this! Let’s zoom on to the next category!

Speed and stamina:

This one is a lot more simpler to decide. Blaze can keep up with Sonic who has shown his fair share of infinite-immeasurable speed feats! Starfire can keep up with Wonder Woman who can somehow throw her lasso into the speed force itself, which I don’t even know how that works. Wonder Woman has shown enough infinite-immeasurable speed feats beside that though to make me confident in my answer. Speed is tied.

But for stamina, I do believe Blaze takes it! Blaze has shown to be a sturdy warrior who has rarely gotten tired, besides use of her super form. She has stamina boosting powers/abilities too, so the chances of her getting exhausted are almost impossible. Meanwhile, Starfire has been shown to get prone to losing her energy many times in the past. Since Blaze has more stamina, she should be able to use her speed for longer, making this section go to Blaze!

Abilities, weapons, and hax:

This one is also pretty easy to decide. Starfire has her fair share of tricks and abilities, but there’s not much she has that can compare to Blaze. Blaze’s abilities far trump anything Starfire has in her utility and her scepter especially beats out any of Starfire’s rare weapons. As for hax, Blaze could just wish for about anything she needs, heal herself, manipulate matter, time, space, and gravity, mess with others’ emotions, and seal Starfire away! Granted, she’s never used most of these abilities before, but she should be able to! This section goes to Blaze!

Experience, skill, and IQ:

Final round! In terms of experience, Starifre takes it! She’s fighting way more often and has been training for longer. Skill also goes to Starfire, seeing as she’s highly trained and a top tier warrior! Blaze is certainly no slouch, but compared to Starfire, she isn’t much. But Blaze does take IQ, seeing as she tends to be smarter on average. So two to one… Starfire wins the final category!

Results:

Phew! That one was tough! Glad I got to do it though! Looking at all this evidence, I believe Starfire wins! But the stats are so confusing! If you believed Blaze won, I wouldn’t bat an eye!

The way I see it, Starfire is FAR FAR stronger and more durable, has a lot more experience, and has more skill. Blaze has better stamina, more abilities, weapons, and hax, and is generally smarter. Speed, of course, is tied. Feel free to disagree with me, as I’m not the smartest person! However, the cat’s out of this flaming hot bag! I believe the winner is Starfire

Thank you so much for reading my part! I got to learn soooooo much about Starfire by reading her comics! And I got to find out how hard researching a blog truly is! Sonally and every other blog maker is truly talented beyond compare! But it was incredibly fun too! I would definitely try this again if someone offered the chance to me! I hope your day has been amazing and I hope it continues to be amazing! This is Ivan*kirbo, and I’ll hopefully see you all in another blog! Take care now! Bye!

Cyber Deadsonic

Oh boy, here I go with this blog that will get me crucified, of the guess. Joking of course here, but on a serious note, I can wholeheartedly explain Blaze winning for this here blog, so bear with me for a moment.

Stats

Both are incredibly strong and durable as well powerful to where they can equal each other, though they are equal in Speed due to them having Immeasurable speed, but I see Blaze having a solid argument of scaling that said speed than Star would, even by downscaling at best.

AP and Dura is where folks would really disagree with me for this, but I give Blaze those as well. Kory has tussled with heralds and other folks, even if it's by herself or with help before, but I don't feel that I think Kory did this with or without her full power and that she has struggled with them before and needed her powers to do so.

Blaze however has fought beings on par or stronger than her and has won before that was shown to affect the cosmology of sonic more times than not, especially against Eggman or Eggman Negative that was using the Jeweled Scepter with the power of the stars to reshape or break down dimensions, and it was all of it, you know what I mean. Why do I give Stats to the kitty you ask? Well, Blaze has better scaling than Kory honestly. Both are equal in speed, but Blaze gets the strength and Dura Stat for me. Bonus for Burning Blaze.

Arsenal/Abilities

Hoo boy, Hax and Equipment for the two. Kory's Solar Absorption is without a doubt nuts and a hard nut to crack. She has sapped solar energy from Superman before and has done so with the others and has a shit ton of starbolt energy as well for her Tamaranean rage to amp it up as well.

She can drain Blaze of heat and solar energy and burn her out as well with Starbolts and such, but knowing how much Blaze has and because it's sonic, Blaze can stay on battle with Rings, Wisps, all of the good stuff, plus Blaze has been shown to resist a lot of the dangerous stuff Like Transmutation, Cosmic Radiations, Power Null, etc.

That means Kory using Solar drain can be useless since Blaze with the Sol Emeralds Burning or not can shrug it off and resist Starbolts that has Cosmic Radiation and take out Kory with her abilities, plus wisps that can explode her, Transmutate her, Pierce, all of it.

Granted Star has some resistance to Transmutation due to not being turned to glass, but any strong form of Transmutation is where she lacks in truly, and counting in all the other arsenal by Monitors and shit, Blaze is hella versatile and haxed compared to Kory and has several wincons to keep going and give Star a lot of trouble, even if it's limited. Another bonus is where Blaze would turn Star into rings and collect her shiny remains after.

Tertiary Factors

There's not much to say for this, but to be frank, I see folks say Star takes the edge of Skill, Experience, and all others. Half true, but both are equally as skilled and experienced, but Star has been shown to get a little reckless with Tamaranean Rage in some battles; she's hot headed and unstable while Blaze keeps a cool demeanor and isn't too heated in the midst of battle.

She has been angry and untrustworthy before during the events of Sonic Rush where she didn't trust Cream, Tails, and Sonic before due to her pursuit against Eggman and Eggman Negative for the Sol Emeralds, over time, she has trusted them and came into conclusion that she bonded strong with them. Battles that they encountered of Experience, Starifre has faced opponents like Donna Troy, Brainiac, Superman, etc. And that's beyond Blaze, but Blaze ain't nothing to scoff at either, her battles were successful against Sonic, Shadow, Silver, Solaris, Eggmen, all of the above and such, as well Legends. It can go either way depending upon interpretation.

Conclusion

I'd say Blaze takes the win in this bout. Star could take AP and Dura, if it not for her shaky scaling compared to Blaze's, Blaze has an easier time of her scaling and was proven to be stronger as well and her abilities means she can resist Kory's greater abilities and can dish it out as many times as it takes to sizzle the Tamaran Princess out of her flame. My final vote goes to Blaze and that she's the winner for this one.

Asura

To begin with, I want to shout out Bang, Gio, and Spirit. I know they worked their butts off researching Starfire and I wanted to make sure they are appreciated by the people in this community.

Now onto the actual debate

Stats

Starting off with Blaze’s AP/Dura, she should at bare minimum be Universal through a multitude of different feats. This includes being comparable to the Sol Emeralds which can merge universes and repower the Chaos Emeralds. From there we can get into Universal+ arguments from being capable of matching the likes of Sonic who matched Erazor Djinn who absorbed an infinite space. Blaze’s highest end scaling puts her into the High Multi to Multi+ range as she should be comparable to Sonic as stated before who can match characters like Solaris who threatened to destroy everything including the Maginaryworld which is a 4th Dimensional spatial realm which contains potentially infinite different realities.

Now onto Starfire’s AP/Dura, she should as well be at bare minimum be universal through some direct feats like surviving an energy wave from a black hole which was warping space, reality and time, potentially even netting this as a Universal+ feat given the fact each universe in DC is infinite and that the black hole was also warping timing itself. From here you can argue High Multi to Multi+ arguments from being capable of matching Donna Troy and Diana. Donna Troy was able to take a nuke from Monarch whose power was compared to the Big Bang.  Diana is consistently capable of matching Zatana and Superman which we all know how powerful they are. This level of power is capable of matching the infinite multiverse of DC and even beyond that with potential dimensional tiering.

So in terms of AP/Dura, while Blaze and Starfire are relative in terms of the fact they scale to characters with universal, multiversal, and even multi+ levels of power, Starfire should take this category due to the fact that she will always have higher end arguements due to the complex and massive cosmology that is DC.

Now in terms of Blaze’s speed, she easily should get MFTL through scaling to the likes of Sonic who flew interstellar distances which get 104,315,128c. However, this is nothing in comparison to her highest finite speed feat she should scale to which is Solaris’s light branching across other timelines which gets 77 Quadrillion c. While finite speed is important, Blaze likely gets even higher with infinite to immeasurable speed arguments like scaling to Sonic who can high five himself or react to attacks from the Time Eater who’s arms are in different points in time.

Now in terms of Starfire’s speed, she should also easily get MFTL from being capable of traveling interstellar distances. While there isn’t a calc for it, it still is really impressive. However, her best finite end feat she should scale to is Wonder Woman deflecting trillions upon trillions of shards from across the universe which gets 52.5 - 315.5 quintillion c. Of course Starfire also has infinite to immeasurable arguments like scaling to Wonder Woman who can throw her lasso into the speed force or pull a moon into other dimensions at incalculable speeds.

Both Blaze and Starfire are incredibly impressive when it comes down to speed. If we were just looking at finite speeds then Starfire would be significantly faster than the likes of Blaze, however due to the fact both have infinite to immeasurable arguments speed should be relatively the same in this factor.

When it comes to stats Starfire should barely edge out Blaze due to her superior AP/Dura and similar speeds.

Arsenal and Abilities

In terms of arsenal and abilities both are relatively straight forward. However, before I continue any further I will first talk about abilities which they share in common or could be used to cancel each other out. Then I will talk about the advantages that both character’s abilities have over the other.

To begin with and the easier ability out of the way, both are capable of flight making it to where both are fully capable of taking the fight to the skies without one being landlocked and at a disadvantage. Blaze’s Pyrokinesis, while impressive, likely isn’t going to go much for her here as Starfire is fully capable of driving attacks from her or dodging attacks from her due to the AP/Dura gap. This also means that Starfire could realistically match these fire based attacks with her starbolts or even blocking it with her stat bolt shield. Also her invulnerability likely won’t matter given the fact that saying she would be invulnerable to attacks which are likely way stronger than what she has faced before is pressing on a NLF. Blaze could potentially use her own shields from Burning Blaze to block the starbolt attacks making them almost a mute point as well.

Now onto Blaze wincons. Blaze actually has a plethora of wincons such as using her dimensional travel to BFR Starfire. She also could use the Sol Emeralds to potentially seal away Starfire as well. While Speed is similar, time stop and time manipulation would help her pull off these haxes. While one could argue Ring transmutation could work, Starfire has shown some resistance to transmutation working before so the debatability of this working is there.

Now onto Starfire’s wincons. If Starfire were to hit Blaze at least one time with her starbolts, the gap in AP would likely put Blaze out of commission or damage her to an incredibly weak point. Starbolt Domes would basically allow Starfire to atomize Blaze, which is something Blaze likely can’t come back from. Her Nova Blast, while risky, gives Starfire great AOE which would deal massive damage to Blaze, likely ending her there.

Analyzing these two wincons through their abilities, it seems that Starfire’s are easier and simpler to utilize than the likes of Blaze who would have to think of transmutation, BFR, or sealing before Starfire even hits her once with a star bolt. While Blaze has more abilities, a lot of them don’t really matter in the long run against someone of Starfire’s caliber. Abilities and Arsenal goes to Starfire.

Tertiary Factors

Lastly, Blaze's tertiary factors. Blaze has incredible fighting skills and prowess from being able to fight and beat the likes of Knuckles who has been stated to be a martial arts master. She also has kept up with and fought Emerl who is capable of copying the techniques of the other Sonic characters. The fact that Blaze can keep up with Sonic is also extremely impressive within itself for skill. As far as fighting skills go, Blaze is no slouch.

As for Starfire, she also has insane fighting skills given she was not only trained by her own race to be a fierce fighter, but she was also trained by the Amazonians who basically train their whole lives. She has shown this skill by being able to match Wonder Woman in skill which is no easy task to accomplish. She’s so skilled that she can pick apart her enemies body functions, strengths, and weaknesses.

While Blaze is incredibly skilled, this section should easily go to Starfire. Being able to be equal to characters like Wonder Woman shows that her skill is equal to that of martial arts and weapons masters. Coupled with the fact she cans decipher one’s strengths and weaknesses while fighting gives her a massive skill advantage over the likes of Blaze.

Conclusion

Both of the combatants are incredibly powerful beings, however, one has to end up on top. While Blaze is capable of matching multiversal+ levels of power, Starfire can do the same, and even greater by matching the likes of Diana, Donna Troy, and even Raven on some occasions. Both are capable of infinite to immeasurable levels of speed as well. Blaze does have wincons with the likes of sealing and BFR however, all Starfire really needs to do is hit her once before she even thinks of using something like that, which is something which Blaze really hasn’t shown the capability to do mid match. And when it comes to skill, Starfire should take that strides from being equal in skill to the likes of Diana. Overall Blaze’s chances at victory were simply set ablaze by Starfire. The winner is Starfire.

Supermonye

Alright, here's a nice matchup with two characters I'm incredibly familiar with. Especially Starfire as I grew up with the Titans. Also two that I'm not particularly fond of in Vs debating. So without further ado, let's go.

Statwise is exactly what you would expect a mid tier dc character against a high tier sonic character would be. That being that Starfire just kinda, AP and Durability stomps. And while Blaze is likely faster when scaling to measurable feats, they would be on equal terms speedwise.

But how do you turn things around? Abilities of course, and Starfire sure...has them. As cool as her absorption is, generally speaking, Blaze has a much better powerset with the equipment to back it up.

When taking the tertiary factors into account, one must acknowledge that Starfire is also much more skilled. Battling against Wonder Woman and being comparable to Superman leaves you all the things you need to know to know. But let's say she uses that nutty little rage powerup. Will she win? Nah. She'd lose. Because that skill advantage is suddenly thrown out of the window. So this would leave one to believe that I'd say Blaze would win. Which she could. But if you ask me, all of this is just a bit too hyper specific.

For one thing, we don't really know the extent of Blaze’s mastery with the Sol Emeralds. Secondly, she kind of needs burning Blaze to even stand a chance here, which would also remove some win cons. And what's saying Starfire wouldn't just paste her atoms across Mobius with one hit? It doesn't make sense for Blaze to reach into her bag first things first, and that would lead to her downfall.

Yet, I'm still going Blaze on this. While she needs specific scenarios, due to equal speed, she has enough gizmos and gadgets to outlast Starfire before she finds something that works.

Starfire may have been an impressive fighter with better AP, Durability and Skill, but Blaze’s comparable speed, better abilities and not being a jobber who's weak to everything, net her the win.

I guess you could say Star's chances of winning blew up in a Starfire.

The winner is Blaze!

One More Thing!

I want to be honest with you guys, this is the first time I’ve done a character of this size, and with this much history, and it’s a comic character, a DC one at that. I’m sure i’ve probably got something wrong, and trust me, i’ve tried my best to make sure this blog does Kori justice, as she is an under researched character, I want to shoutout Bang for gathering all the comics that made this blog possible to do, and Bang, Timewarpiaman and Ivan*kirbo, Gio, and Spirit for the help with reading and researching for Kori.

Couldn’t have done this without all five of them, and I’m thankful for their help.

Next Time....

(Shoutout to Round1 for making the Trailer)

  1. Hey y'all! I looked through this entire thing and it was great! Immaculate details and you brought up some great points!

Me and my team are actually working on an animated version of this matchup!

While my research is complete and we're transitioning into the animation phase, I was wondering if I could ask y'all a few questions about some of your conclusions and some of your sources? I want to make sure I'm leaving no stone unturned in regards to this fight and make it the best that it can be and want to make sure I can make any needed adjustments before we get too far into production!
